I read the bus destinations. If I don't I'll end up in Parramatta instead of the City or vice versa......

I need new glasses though. It's getting harder to read the things.

Impossible when it comes to bus passengers. I have no remorse in saying that.
I would comment that passengers aren't necessarily that stupid, if at all, but they respond accordingly to dumb features and practices implemented by operators. Like if operators have a habit of only randomly opening back doors, have a high flight of stairs up to the back or won't allow boarding by rear doors, they can hardly be surprised when passengers congregate down the front and refuse to move down the back. Or, once I had a partner who was part-sighted and she had to flag down buses because she couldn't read the desto until the bus was right on top of the stop. Naturally, if it was the wrong bus, the drivers would then yell abuse, but the penny must have eventually dropped among those higher up and we got much better desto displays. The list goes on. Don't always blame the passengers.

Yeah whatever. I have said many positive remarks. I think you are mistaking that for not being positive 100% of the time.

When numerous would-be passengers will attempt to flag down buses with "NOT IN SERVICE" in H U G E font, flag down buses that have long-since been retired from the fleet, attempt a stampede onto terminating buses, among a host of other scenarios, I am inclined to agree with Swift. People do not read signs. The most laughably ironic is when they grumble and huff "there should be a sign that says that!", while standing right in front of a big sign that says just that.

Reminds me of the time an obviously fed up driver shouted out the open door CAN'T YOU READ THE *BLEEEEEP* SIGN as an elderly woman put her hand out with 000 Special up on the roll.

That leads us to people who won't signal at all and expect the driver to be psychic.

I would have come back with "I couldn't read that you weren't in service from 100m away I saw a bus in the distance and chucked my arm out hoping it would stop and your expecting me to work out if the bus in service or not when I see it in the distance coming down the road"

I've noticed that Transit Systems are starting to place the ex region 15 MAN 18.310 VSTs on Smeaton Grange shifts in the last month I've caught m/o 8560 and m/o 5047 on the 1:06pm Liverpool bound 865 from stop 2570540 Jedda road after Wonga road Lurnea which is normally done by a bus from Smeaton Grange depot ether a MAN 18.320 VST with a 61xx rego or a CB60 Scania

Pretty sure the Green Square end of the 320 route is still not open as yet, but have seen a couple of route 320 buses with "Green Square" as the destination of late (bus 8440 this afternoon was the latest sighting).
Can only presume that the driver just selected that (instead of "Zetland"), or did I miss something?

If that bit of the route is still not open, is it one of those things that it might never open or needs something major to happen locally?

The terminus in both directions is shown as being in Joynton Ave, although it think buses go up Epsom Rd to turn around at the roundabout. This has been the situation for quite some time.

I would guess that GREEN SQUARE is replacing ZETLAND as the destination?

I suspect with the 10/12 changes, Green Square has now replaced Zetland as the official terminus.

However, the map inside the timetable still says this:

It probably doesn't really matter as Green Square isn't that far away anyway, and it's probably no different to how Route 410 shows Macquarie Park when it should be Marsfield.

I noticed recently that the 348 now operates via Bourke St, Green Square Station and Botany Rd, in lieu of along Joynton Ave. Maybe from the time of cutback from Coogee to PoW?

According to the Sponsor themselves ex Sta 4919 and Melbourne Tram 2046 are both now in Iron Maiden Livery which is a break from the usual 747 and 757 in Iron Maiden Livery.

Although most buses still show "Zetland" and "Joynton Ave" which does correspond to the last stop (the one with ID 201718), rather than a stop on one of the other streets.

Granted it is close to Green Square and the bus stop signs (where they exist) have said Green Square for a while now, but I guess it was more wondering when the "road construction works" would be completed as noted in the timetable map given buses starting to use "Green Square" as the destination.

The last of the two B10BLE's for Newcastle Transport, m/o 3878 and m/o 3880 were both withdrawn and retired after completing their morning school specials on the 15/12/23.

I have posted this in the Newcastle Transport Fleet-listings thread, but am posting it here where there'll be more exposure.

I've noticed Transit Systems SW run at least 1 of the 2 shifts that mainly operates within the former region 15 section of region 2 out of Hoxton Park depot as I saw ex Brisbane Volgren CR228L O500LE 1525 from Hoxton Park operating the 9:21am 883 Campbelltown-Ruse-Campbelltown loop which is strange for a Hoxton Park bus to be out this far running a revenue service as former region 15 shifts are normally shared between Bradbury and Smeaton Grange

One region now, all depots does all routes, similar to U-go, Revesby buses doing former Punchbowl Bus Company Routes

I do understand that I'm thinking Hoxton Park might have a few drivers that transferred across from Busabout as the former Interline drivers haven't been trained on former the region 15 routes yet I need to get a update from my inside source about what's going on around route familiarisation training

Slightly different in that Hoxton Park is a region 3 depot.
