Having fallen off a bike at slightly faster than walking pace at the age of 11 or so, come off second best, and still bearing some marks to this day, I would dispute that opinion. It was just as well for me that it happened on the footpath....
In Amsterdam they generally learn to ride at only four years old so they are pretty experienced but I was only talking about head injuries.
Just think if you had to wear a hat everytime you got in a car I dont think it would be very popular.

The law to wear hats on bikes is to prevent injury if involved in an accident or fall.
I understand it is mostley caused by falling over.
The statasticion that said when it became law head injuries were reduced did not account for people stopping riding and dying with a heart attack instead.
In the new edition of Trailer magazine they are advertising AAA drop deck trailers for only $99.500 so making a Trailerbus could not be over $250,000 not including the prime mover of the another $250,000
Many disabled people could be a conductor on a Trailerbus allowing an exemption for the NSW rule that states you need a door next to the driver, this would allow them to replace the XPT with greater flexibility and frequency.

Yet how many do you see refusing to wear a helmet or use proper lighting at night? G
My five cents are that it is more dangerous on scooters than bikes as they have small wheels which tip them over when they hit a small bump especially if it is a hire scooter that inexperienced people use.
Everybody including cars should use a 30 km/h default backroad with a 2m gap when passing and on signposted roads bikes and mobility scooters should get on a Trailerbus so not to be a pain to drivers.
