Looking for information regarding 1948 OPD1 OPD2 Leyland Titan

Post by storm »

Hi everyone
My name is Michael and I am trying to find out some information on what I think is a 1948 Leyland Titan OPD1 double decker bus. The current owner confirms it is a 1948 model. I am in negotiations to purchase the bus but the current owner won't give a price until I find out how much it will cost to transport it to my property in the NSW Hunter Valley. I have contacted Nationwide Towing and Transport and they want to know the size of the bus so they can give me an accurate quote. Would you be kind enough to let me know, if you have the information, how long, wide, and high these old buses are and also how heavy they are? Also do you know of anyone based in the NSW Hunter Valley near Maitland, Newcastle, or Cessnock who may be able to transport it if Nationwide Towing and Transport are unable to?

I have been looking for an old DD for 27 years as I remember them in Sydney when I was growing up and also remember one from youth group that was called the Salt Shaker based in Blacktown/Mount Druit.

Any and all assistance is greatly appreciated.
Cheers.
Michael.

Are you willing to part with it?

I've been told by the Sydney Bus Museum that 1948 would make it an OPD2. Would love to find out anything I can on these classics.
