Since the new version of the board in the middle of 2020 there have been a number of complaints that some threads have not been listed. After investigating this for a while it was diagnosed as not finding threads created between late 2016/early 2017 and the date of the new version for some searches.
It has now been reported that his has been fixed. So if you have any further search problems please report it here.

Please keep in mind that searches can only be done for words or numbers four characters or more in length. Search arguments three characters or less in length are ignored. It has been noticed that many searches done include short search arguments but we do not know who the members are who do such searches. Some years ago we reduced the length limit to three but this caused file errors which was assumed to be a bug in the software package. We do not know if this has been fixed.

I was advised later that the use of three character search arguments was fixed with the new version last year - this was never publicised - but was unfixed with today's fix for the problem above. This has now been corrected. So hopefully searching for three character words and numbers will now work again.
