"Th-th-th-that's all, folks!"

The End. Mark the date: Monday 31 January 2022. It has now ticked past midnight in Melbourne; and after 9 years of operation, chaos, dramas and stories, Transdev Melbourne has now finally bitten the dust. Thanks for the memories Transdev.

As promised they have abruptly cut off their web and social media presence.

Unlike Hillside Trains, which despite being gone for 20 years, has someone hosting their website still! http://www.buslines.com.au/hillsidetrains/index2.html

Transdev Melbourne are now off Facebook & Twitter. Their https://www.transdevmelbourne.com.au/ website has this as their swansong:

"Thanks for visiting Transdev Melbourne. For the past nine years we have been proud to deliver a clean, safe and reliable bus service for Victorians.
From 31 January, a new operator, Kinetic Melbourne began operating the routes we currently service. Our website is no longer be active.
For timetables and travel information please visit Public Transport Victoria – www.ptv.vic.gov.au
For information about Transdev please visit – www.transdev.com.au
For information about Kinetic Melbourne visit - www.wearekinetic.com
Thanks for being part of our journey."

Their main Aust/NZ site at https://www.transdev.com.au/ still lists Melbourne but no doubt this will soon be updated.

To thier credit, they did improve in the later years, since they had the big fleet upgrade, and got rid of the CB30 and early Designline MAN's which were the Achilles heel of the fleet, and things also seemed to improve behind the scenes.

Didn't they have to beg the Government to step in and acquire a new buses for them, having not maintained or renewed their existing fleet?

There is a possibility that Transdev may be back in Melbourne if it wins the tram franchise.

It's one of three shortlisted companies vying for the tender.
