Re: Sydney to Melbourne Maglev via Canberra
I cant find your comments but most of the other contributors find the whole project a bit of a joke.

Re: Sydney to Melbourne Maglev via Canberra
I agree with the comments HSR is a joke especially in a nation run by lawyers.

A self employed tradie needs a four bedroom unit so he can use one for an office https://www.afr.com/rich-list/high-rise ... 517-p57spw
I suggest he needs parking for his family car, trade ute and friends to visit as well.

Re: Sydney to Melbourne Maglev via Canberra
You may be able to change the title to Maglev Parrahub/Canberra/Albury/Melbourne

Or deleted entirely. It has never been anything but a blog based on one poster's fantasies.
Re: Sydney to Melbourne Maglev via Canberra
If eddy wants to discuss his topic with anybody interested, there's no problem him having a thread here, even when there are no takers. It's not like it's getting in anybody's way, other than upsetting control freaks.

Re: Sydney to Melbourne Maglev via Canberra
I have read that a Japanese guide way is the same cost as HSR and that figures especially as one third of HSR goes on maintenance

I heard today on the ABC that it is far better to use electricity directly rather than making green hydrogen for half the 1m B doubles Sydney/Melbourne every year.

Re: Sydney to Melbourne Maglev via Canberra
They say here https://www.bitre.gov.au/sites/default/ ... ilways.pdf that even HSR costs between $16m to $110m per km between Parrahub and Canberra but as a straight 11psi tunnel can be built directly with 20 conventional Chinese hardrock TBM for $20b in five years we should use the Japanese maglev so when it is eventually connected Parrahub/Melbourne with passing stations at Canberra and Albury container trains from transport sidings can travel overnight as there is no maintenance required.

When I saw this documentary https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=_r0htm5uHPQ
I thought the Parrahub/Melbourne would be a great investment as the overnight container trains would get at least $2,000 per container.

According to the Parramatta council they never even thought of Parrahub/Canberra at their last meeting.

George VanZandbergen said he definitely would travel to Australia to experience Parrahub/Canberra.https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Wkgpxprl_5c&t=6s
HyperloopTT thinks that this would work https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ijWIoF2QIuM but I believe it would be easier to load a container train in a siding for a 2 hour trip overnight saving 1m B doubles on the Hume per year and receiving $2,000 per container.

Does anyone believe we will still be building steel wheels on steel rails in 100 years.

I replied this to J Sterling here https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=XjwF-STGtfE
As Japanese maglev needs no maintenance it could carry ISO standard carriages through the day and ISO standard containers overnight between 1am and 3am beating trucks by 8 hours over 1,000km and earning $2,000 per container.
Transport sidings could have a loaded train waiting to go city to city and single 14m diameter TBM driven single 11 psi tunnels would allow 700 km/h while people could still breath and not feel trapped.

Re: Sydney to Melbourne Maglev via Canberra
There would be extremely limited demand for any kind of interstate Parrahub service at the moment, especially not for any service taking people from Harris Park to other parts of Australia, as I don't believe that other parts of Sydney, let alone New South Wales or Australia, are welcoming of visitors from Harris Park at the moment.
I hope that the fiscal planning for Parrahub allows for huge drops in demand during pandemics.

Re: Sydney to Melbourne Maglev via Canberra
Agreed, but as it would cost $20 billion and take five years to drive a single 14m diameter Parrahub/Canberra stage one I really think the virus will just go away like the Spanish flu by then.BroadGauge wrote: ↑Mon Aug 02, 2021 9:35 pm There would be extremely limited demand for any kind of interstate Parrahub service at the moment, especially not for any service taking people from Harris Park to other parts of Australia, as I don't believe that other parts of Sydney, let alone New South Wales or Australia, are welcoming of visitors from Harris Park at the moment.

The other thing that must be addressed are the homeless women who are sharing super and may be very interested in having a huge room each with all services and transport. https://www.abc.net.au/news/2021-07-24/ ... /100319352

China built this https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=uTSpdD6MswA but we can't even build Japanese maglev to Canberra.

I put this here https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=9wJCltuawSs
Sydney/Melbourne with passing stations at Canberra and Albury would only be economically viable if it uses a Japanese maglev with an international standard guideway for ISO carriages and overnight containers.
To avoid all the surface cost and disruption and allow a single 11 psi tunnel the first stage from Parrahub to Canberra could be built for A$20b in five years using 20 Chinese built TBM.
