Proposal for a new section: Transport Games
No, it's not like the last "games" section ATDB had, which was a bit of a flop... I'm proposing a section to discuss transport simulation games, such as OMSI (bus simulator), Euro Truck Simulator 2, flight simulators, and all the different train simulators that are out there. Members could discuss addons, hints, tips, and post gameplay screenshots and videos. What does everyone else think?

Sounds like a good idea
You got a real flash bus, but my one's flash one, eh
And I believe that my one's faster than yours, Mr Bond
'Cause mine's a red one'

Re: Proposal for a new section: Transport Games
Something like that, or "Transport Simulators" would be particularly good for some of the younger members who are into simulations of transport like OMSI etc who can post game plays, some of their own work on add-ons or mods etc. There would have to be a moderator though to ensure that particularly mods and add-ons which are posted or discussed about have not been someone else's hard stolen work or copyright breaching, using without permission etc...
In return, could always get rid of the Which Vehicle is it section which really does not serve any educational purpose other than to randomly guess a fleet number of a bus. At least the Where is it section tests the geographical skills of members in relation to photos, locations and buses.

Re: Proposal for a new section: Transport Games
Well I think it'd be the user's responsibility to ensure that any addons or mods they post aren't breaching copyright, and of course they'd be hosted externally, not on BA servers. Of course it would need a moderator, but really the moderator would only need to enforce existing ATDB rules, I don't think that it's necessary for moderators to chase up every single addon or mod that's posted to ensure it isn't breaching copyright or being posted here without permission.

Re: Proposal for a new section: Transport Games
On second thoughts, as seen in other forums, discussion about simulators and all this can and does attract childish behaviour which for a forum like this may not be the best thing to have. It might possibly result in new users joining just for the sake of these "games" rather than to contribute informative, appreciative and interesting discussion on the forum about the main focus.

The Simulator Directory link does not seem to work, it says "You are not authorised to read this forum."

Yeah - Matt stated on Facebook that it's an Admin Only permission - The fact that you, Fleet Lists, can access it is completely irrelavent.Fleet Lists wrote:I can access it but get a blank page.
Matt has to write up the Wiki entry, and until he does, it's a blank link.
