There is some activity on the LR track under the rail lines at Lewisham.

This thread is supposed to be about the MLR extension?Fleet Lists wrote:Some posts concerning the future Eastern Suburbs light rail have been move to thread http://www.busaustralia.com/forum/viewt ... &start=125 where the same thing was already posted in another form.

Re: Light Rail Implementation 2013
This is to be about 2013 implementations while the Eastern Suburbs is not due to start until 2014. So this is basically about the Dulwich Hill extension such as the post by Boronia above.
MLR extension could refer to Dulwich Hill but I think also to the Eastern Suburbs so that is not applicable.

Re: Light Rail Implementation 2013
This is an old thread which predates the Randwick announcement.
Perhaps it could be renamed MLR Extension Implementation or similar, to distinguish it from the other thread.

Re: Light Rail Implementation 2013 _MLR Extension
Interesting, "Pay no more". Does that Mean Zone 2 will be significantly longer than Zone 1, or will there be some redefining of what's Zone 1 and what's Zone 2?
Re: Light Rail Implementation 2013 _MLR Extension
Zone 2 is already much longer than Zone 1 - it appears to be a money grab to get higher fares from the large patronage at the Star Casino. Even pre-extension, it would make much more sense for Zone 2 to begin at approximately Wentworth Park/Glebe, with all of Pyrmont in Zone 1.

Don't bother with what appears to be the world's most amateur video production. It appears to break every rule that you've ever heard about making decent video.

I wouldn't say any of my own videos are of professional level... Their video may not be good, but at least you can see some sort of progress.

Sydney Light Rail Infrastructure
Noticed on Twitter today that some new poles are being installed at existing light rail stops, with this example being taken at Glebe Light Rail Station.
Looks to me like a 'next service' button; i.e press the button to hear details of the next service arriving/departing the station.
No LEDs etc makes me think against an emergency help point, and no display makes me think against it being something to do with Opal (balance check, etc).
Has anyone else seen these around?

Re: Sydney Light Rail Infrastructure
I think you are right.. Looking through the Light Rail Extension current works for September I found this..
"Preparatory works for the Inner West Extension will also take place which will include customer information display installation across the network, communication works at Convention, John Street Square and Wentworth Park stops, and platform and rail works at Lilyfield"
http://www.transport.nsw.gov.au/sites/d ... r_2013.pdf
At cityrail stations without a visual display or staff, they just use an automated public address system which is triggered by train signals or a timer. Maybe they are using a button here so that they minimise noise disturbance for the neighbours.

Re: Light Rail Implementation 2013 _MLR Extension
I love the negative spin in herald article about how train would be quicker from dulwich hill to central ... Well duh ... It is not really designed to take people the full distance from dulwich hill to central but more so to pick people en route or to change from train or bus along the way.

Re: Light Rail Implementation 2013 _MLR Extension
Agree the article doesn't really point out the real issue - that the "Zone 3" prices are likely to be pretty high. I don't understand why they can't bite the bullet and just offer the same Zone 2 fares to Dulwich Hill - especially when the fare system will likely be different for Opal anyway ...
Re: Light Rail Implementation 2013 _MLR Extension
The new Zone 3 will be a breach of Gladys Berejiklian's promise to remain zone 2 fare for the extension.
