Sorry not Lidcombe, but both very good calls so far from what you have to work with in the picture. Unfortunately both are cold. A clue is that the train is approaching Platform 1 of the location and there is a track off Platform 2 that is hidden by the bush and 4490 but follows the same curve and level of the 2 visible tracks. If that wording makes sense !

Sorry neither of those last 2. Think further afield, while that mass of overhead wires says somewhere in Sydney, it's not in the metropolitan area.

deepthought2006 has it - Lawson. Monday morning this week the 2 locos were heading east hauling the "Southern Aurora" carriages which, given that there were about 10-12 of them, are well hidden in this picture. Over to you.

I've just finished going through all of my photos, old and new, and I have none available that are suitable (showing transport subjects in NSW that I've not already used). Sorry. Open floor.

I wouldn't really have a clue, so I'll just have a wild guess and suggest it's somewhere in Auburn.

Having just had a look at Shaft St on streetview I'll go with that answer as well. The side where the bus is parked seems to have changed with construction work underway.

Yes it is on Shaft St in Silverwater. And yes on google street view the location where I am standing is a construction site, but it is no longer as right now it is an Ausgrid Training Centre and Depot, which is where I took the photo from while getting trained on electrical safety.

Since Bus909 got it first, I guess it's over to you!

I was driving down East Street yesterday - I thought it looked familiar!

This is the best I can do at short notice - it's an old photo - I've got a different mobile phone now and it's got a much better camera than the old one.....
