Gentlemen
Who remembers the amphibious jeep with the Chinchilla (QATB) Ambulance from January 1947 to July 1971.
In the earlier years the jeep undertook valuable service in flood rescue work and was pensioned off (sold) as roads and bridges were improved about the area. A second amphibious jeep was owned by the Ford Dealer in Chinchilla, John Dorney, and subsequently sold to Chinchilla Shire Council. Both vehicles still swim today.
I am sure photos will exist of the vehicles in their hey-day.
