Yes, 2455.AEC Decker wrote:The yellow AEC Decker OCV 759 with APEX on it, was a mobile kitchen and was for sale near Miranda in the late 80s or early 90s. I took it for a test drive and mechanically it was worn out. I can't remember its' DGT number, but it was an early one with the mushroom accelerator.
Does anyone know its' DGT number ?

This photo was taken in December 1990 , and my memory has recovered enough for me to say that this photo was taken in Campbelltown, and i found both this and the white Vic plates Leyland when I was visiting car lots looking to buy a car - both probably near Minto car sales where i actually bought a car and returned on a Monday with cash from the bank and my camera to photograph these 2 busesmosman was wrote:The blue haven pools is 2379, current location unknown, last seen in 1985 at St.Marys.

I think this is a possible candidate for the Kunanurra DD even though it is listed as being scrapped in Greg Travers book.

Why not email these photos to the local newspaper in Kununurra and let them investigate this iconic local vehicle that a pioneer drove accross the desert at 30mph about 30 years ago? If they start by looking where I said I saw it either it is still there or a neighbour will know where it went....AC wrote:Does the Kunnanurra DD still exist?

Actually in the 1978 photo of 2378 that I have when it was running for Top Deck as ISA526 (Interstate plates) it was showing "727" in the number box. Maybe the new owner liked the idea of aircraft and decided that a "747" would be more powerfulRed and Cream wrote:That may explain why it is showing 747 leopard1543 as didnt their buses have knicknames , maybe it was called 747 for some reason.

Unfortunately the Top Deck Travel bus is still not entirely convincing, but the aircraft numbers seem to establish a connection. The dent over the top of the number box appears to be the same but is a litle too indistinct to claim that it is identical. If the Kununnurra bus, is in fact 2378, it appears to have had a lot of refurbishment work, including the retro headlights. A hard one to call but I think it is worth at least another 1,000 posts to solve

2378, 2379. I think they were Waverley Depot at some in their life with the DGT.Dave Wilson wrote:Unfortunately the Top Deck Travel bus is still not entirely convincing, but the aircraft numbers seem to establish a connection.
