This afternoon the Hawthorn Hawks will take on the West Coast Eagles in the AFL Grand Final, the Hawks fourth Grand Final appearance in as many years, with the hope they might pull off the hat-trick of 3 consecutive wins.
Once again the Hawks held an opening training session at Waverley Park at lunchtime Thursday and I made the to get shots of the shuttle buses running from Glen Waverley Station and off-site parking Caribbean Gardens. I once again made the pilgrimage to get the coverage. This year saw Bayside vehicles in the mix (joining sister operation Nuline), while it was believed to be the first day of Qunice's be operated by new owners Australian Transit Group.
At Glen Waverley:
Line-up lead by Bayside #37 (Volvo B9R, Coach Concepts)
Qunices 0551AO (Mercedes Benz O405, PMC) - one of four 27 year old O405 buses at Qunice's still going strong.
Quinces 5101AO (Spartan TB275, Coach Design)
Bayside #25 (Volvo B8R, Coach Concepts)
At Waverley Park:
Qunices 0557AO (Mercedes Benz O405, PMCSA)
Quinces 0583AO (Mercedes Benz O404-3, Motorcoach)
Qunices 0555AO (Mercedes Benz O405, PMC)
Quinces 5112AO (Volvo B7R, Busscar)
Nuline #20 (Volvo B7R, Volgren)
Bayside #33 (Volvo B7R, Coach Concepts)

Those 0405's keep on going, Dipper was playing when they were new and many of the players playing today were quite young or not even born.
It looks like the Hawks might make their hat trick.

Re: Off to Waverley again
I had no idea Quince retained a handful of examples of their 0405s. They sold off truckloads years ago.
The PMCSA ones are a good looking bus. So too are the Sydney STA lookalike ones. A shame they're single door.
Interesting photographs.

NSW, the state that embraces mediocrity.
Re: Off to Waverley again
Quinces' last two door bus was withdrawn in around 2010/2011 to sadly be replaced by crap from ChinaSwift wrote:I had no idea Quince retained a handful of examples of their 0405s. They sold off truckloads years ago.

Re: Off to Waverley again
The Bayside's were on Glen Waverley with the Nulines on Caribbean Gardens, the Bayside seen at Caribbean Gardens had a meal break there. I note with interest only 2 buses avoided going over the roundabout at Waverley Park. The Nulines/Baysides had special destos programmed in for the event, although 25s driver didn't bother to do it.
yolo seems to be a bit of a trend!
