Saw a rather nice red Triumph roadster at Northmead the other day. Google tells me it was a late mofdel TR3.

Found this nice 1990 Magna TP Elite, according to the listing it started it's life as a Mitsubishi Executive driven car before passing to it's only other owner.

https://www.grays.com/lot/0001-60012888 ... n-109212km

I remember my Dad having one(a TP GLX, not an Elite) for a short time as a company car, reading it's manual from cover to cover as a young kid learning how all the whizz bang things in the Elite worked.

Please consider! RIP Magna, ironically more Aussie than Holden in the latter's last fifty years.

Speaking of Holden though, I saw a white Kingswood ute late last night in unrestored condition (HX or HZ, no idea which model as it was behind another car but it had the later Kingswood badge on the side, not the HQ-HJ one). Unfortunately its right tail light wasn't working. It also had a V8 rather than the usual red 6, probably a 253 as it didn't sound modified and was relatively quiet, probably factory or replaced a clapped out six at one point 30+ years ago.

Speaking of Mitsubishi Magnas I saw an early example of the final shape apparently abandoned on the side of the road with a broken window painted in this non factory bright orange. Looked like real classy owners had it.

I saw an original mini van on Concord Road yesterday and was amazed by how small it was. I can't that I actually drove one of those things.

And in spite of their pathetic fuel economy, I wouldn't mind driving a TP Magna again. Best car I have ever driven.

Also, I have a photo of an early 1950s Vauxhall I saw when I was walking down to the shops. I'll post it some time soon.

And I spotted the old Wolseley I've seen around here from time to time. It's a 15/60 rather than a 24/80 like my grandfather had but, unless you look under the bonnet, apparently it's pretty much the same car. The owner told me he had just sold it to someone in the Southern Highlands, so.I guess I probably won't see it around much more........

Up for grabs on Grays Online

An example of Nissan's true blue Aussie Ute, the XFN Ute, which was of course a rebadged XF Falcon Ute.

It's still there but apparently is going to be collected soon. It'sjust around the corner from where we live, so it's not too far out of way. He was getting it ready for collection but let mme sit inside it and, I can't explain why, but I couldn't stop crying when I sat in the back. It was rather embarrassing but somehow it felt good.

It may not have been exactly the same car, but it just back so many memories.

I was just driving to Dural and saw a nice Daimler SP250 on the roundabout at the junction of Old Northern Road and New Line Road. I was negotiating the roundabout though, so no chance of a photo.

These were short lived, only on the market for a couple of years.

Said to be the only car ever made that was bigger on the inside than on the outside. I had two Mini vans. I'm 190 tall and I have no problem with space in them. There was less front seat space in Holdens of that era. I also manufactured Minis.

Is the 998 the best out of the the engine choices?
I had a ride in a Mokev with a 998 fitted with headers and it went beautiful. Engine sounded harmonious and had no trouble pulling away.
1275 if course is the most powerful , but that 1.0 didn’t feel wanting. Not sure what the 1100 is like but I bet it’s fine.

I haven't been on the forum for a while so, to catch up, here's something I spotted about five weeks ago at Northmead shops while getting some fruit and vegetables. Hardly a great car in its day, but an interesting survivor now.....

Goodness I can’t believe someone is still using that on full rego even if it is a Toyota Corolla. Must be strictly a local runabout from a long time resident. Thanks for the pic.

Swift: Have you seen Matty Willo's XC on YouTube? Hoping he doesn't ruin it by turning it into a burnout/drag car, it's basically as mint as you can get for a near 50 year old six-cylinder sedan (wheels and front bumper aside).

A couple of interesting sightings driving from Carlingford to Eastwood along Marsden Road today although, as I was driving, there aren't any photos.....

First was an old white and green Holden station wagon (I looked it up on Google and it was either an FE or FC but don't ask me which of the two it was) on full rego and hauling a trailer full of boxes of stuff, looking as if was loaded up at least as high as the roof of the car and covered with a tarpaulin.

Second was a shiny black Maybach, the first one I have seen. It might have been chauffeur driven, but I didn't get a good enough look to say for sure.

Saw a red (same colour as the old post office letter boxes) HR holden on the Windsor Road at Baulkham Hills today, with a big mesh roof rack and stickers all over it including a number on the front doors. Probably a "Bash" car.

Saw another Maybach yesterday, this time a silver one on the Old Northern Road at Castle Hill. I wonder how many of them there are in Australia?
