1200 was supposedly quite different from the remaining units, so yes, would've been nice to keep around.

I think she's been scrapped for a long time now. Here's hoping a 15xx gets repainted into CityLoop livery

Looks like the QLD LNP has scrapped the Labor mandate of all new bus orders from 2025 needing to be electric. Sorry the below is mostly behind a pay wall. There's been no official announcement, but the info in the article is sourced from documents from the LNP government.

Re: Transport For Brisbane observations 2026
Before the 2024 election:
The state had a clear zero-emission mandate for new buses from 2025, with a government-led electric bus program supporting local manufacturing and clean depots.
Under the current government / now:
The strict 2025 zero-emission requirement has effectively been relaxed or shelved in practice, replaced by a broader “balanced” approach that allows low-emission diesel buses too.
New electric bus procurement continues (e.g., industry engagements and expressions of interest), but not exclusively or mandatorily.
The focus for 2032 is on delivery of a full transport network that includes bus rapid transit, high-capacity metro services, better rail connections, and integrated planning.

So Euro 6 and Euro 5 works as well as BEB vehicles? Maybe in the next decade or 2 we see more Scanias at Hornibrook Bus Lines (NEVER CALLING IT KEOLIS).

News.com.au, having nicked a story from that other bottom feeder website Reddit, has discovered that there are charging ports on BCC' buses. Bit slow on that one, how long have they been around, five years?

And the new state owned B8s don't have them.

Re: Transport For Brisbane observations 2026
With so many carrying battery packs, the negligible power output of those ports (although I seem to recall this was an issue only with the very early Volgren buses with the ports), short time people spend on buses and the propensity of the ports to be vandalised... Think we're better off without them.
Re: Transport For Brisbane observations 2026
Yeah I agree. Never used them.
Re: Transport For Brisbane observations 2026
The ones on the metrobuses are actually relatively fast if using the USB-C port, so at least those are good.
Re: Transport For Brisbane observations 2026
Wondering how much longer the Stationlink service will last? Only one station left to be rebuilt at Moorooka. Seems a waste to have the full service for one station?
Re: Transport For Brisbane observations 2026
something i just realize yesterday that MAN artic since move to Willawong start to have a shift on weekend and this is the first time for a long time to see MAN Artic on weekend (except for special event). However i am not seen the B8 artic from Garden city at all yesterday.
Based on what look like it look like Garden city rooster schedule that not put artic on weeekend, before i thought they not run artic on weekend because MAN Artic is quite old.
In my opinion, if Garden city still not operating their artic on weekend (B8 which is newer vehicle). But when Willawong run their artic on weekend (MAN artic which in the end of life or older). Is better for their MAN artic stay at Garden city and willawong get B8 Artics because the artic from Willawong probably will have more KM run compare to Garden city artic. Or if the reason because they will turn GC into full diesel, maybe rather than send new B8 to sherwood better send them to Willawong.

Re: Transport For Brisbane observations 2026
There are a only 19 B12s (14.5s) at Willawong now - if there is a shortage of 14.5s for whatever reason, an artic can be used instead. Larger buses also attract a modest allowance (see P13 / P14), so if there's no 14.5s available, taking an artic stops the driver from losing money, and the passengers don't have to endure crowding like they might on a rigid. Everyone wins.
Since M1 and the network changes occurred, Garden City seemed to sending several MAN artics out on 130, 140, 150, 200, 222 etc during the peaks and daytime, which hasn't happened for a long time.
I wouldn't say the artics are being used more at Willawong. Yes, a couple of buses are going out on weekends or at night, but if you watch AnyTrip, you'll notice they don't stay out very long in the peak.

Re: Transport For Brisbane observations 2026
Man artics have moved to Willawong as Garden City soon won't have any CNG busses at all. It's just pushing all CNG to one final depot. When they are eventually retired, Willawong probably won't get new artics to replace them.
Re: Transport For Brisbane observations 2026
Willawong will probably get the BCC-owned B8RLEAs if Garden City gets artics handed out from TMR I guess.
Re: Transport For Brisbane observations 2026
I heard the TMR artics would go to Sherwood, likely meanng willawong will get b12's to replace the MAN articsmondegola wrote: Mon Mar 09, 2026 6:35 pm Willawong will probably get the BCC-owned B8RLEAs if Garden City gets artics handed out from TMR I guess.
