Agreed, particularly with the time point and having almost no time available to engage in hobbies/personal projects. Additionally since COVID I've found its become much more difficult to maintain contact with old friends and hence everything just feels like one long slog, all just to barely keep the books balanced. Then you get some entitled dipsh!ts starting new global conflicts and now I'm really worried about slipping into the red

It's frustrating and concerning that we're seeing multiple wars occuring, Russia vs Ukraine, Israel vs Gaza, U.S. and Israel vs Iran. And The U.S.

The U.S. government gives me the sh!ts because of how they are treating the people in their country and the entire world and I'll never understand why our government wants to keep kissing their ar$e. Especially when a lot of people are trusting the United states less now. I also hate how entitled the U.S. government is too. If there's a leader of a country they don't like they'll go in and remove the leader. Regardless of whether the population of the country wants the government they have.

I'm also sick of governments not treating the cost of living like they did with COVID. I'm always going to praise Dan Andrews for his leadership during COVID, it wasn't perfect and it was definitely unpopular, but it was very effective at preventing the spread of the virus at the time with the lockdowns.

We all know what the solutions are to this cost of living crisis, yet any action against the cost of living crisis is unpopular among the super rich elites because the crisis is helping them get rich. Taxing them a tiny amount will barely do anything to their wealth but it will make a huge difference for the rest of us.

I'd also like to see a system change, Id like a system that actively prevents people from being put in poverty and lifts people out of it too. I'd like our country to not perpetuately be in a crisis.

Before ANYBODY here continues mentioning about world conflicts and Iran, choose your next words with the utmost care and caution.

You have no idea how lucky you are to have that freedom to comment on such things whilst living in a safety blanket in Australia. But it is not all about you. Not everybody has that freedom that you take for granted.

This is dangerously treading in murky waters of foreign matters of which we are dealing with dictators and regimes that will happily and gleefully have their own citizens publicly executed; yes, shot and killed in cold bloody murder in the middle of the city streets by hired goons, for what? Just for disagreeing with the way the government operates.

People here are running the great risk of sympathising with regimes that support and give practice to the dehumanising of their own citizens, the rap1ng of women, the kidnapping and indoctrination of children, and the breeding of terrorists that don't give any more of a damn what you think about whether you like or hate Trump or the USA as a whole, whether you're an ally or an opponent of social movements. Terrorists, dictators and regimes don't care about what you think; they only care about exterminating people that don't align with their ideology. Look at what happened at Bondi Beach in December last year.

People over time and history have sought asylum and came in as refugees across places like the USA and here in Australia with the express purpose of getting the hell away from those very scumholes and regimes that they were subject to against their will, not in one hour or one week, but daily, every single year, some even since they were born, and those are actual refugees; not freeloaders that came here onto the red carpets of multiculturalism and mass migration programs and taken over places like Lakemba and Meadow Heights to the point where we are now unable to casually walk down those streets without catching their ire.

These refugees ran away, they assimilated to our country and our society, they contributed, they worked, they live a much better life now; but the unfortunate reality is that while they made it out, so many others didn't; that includes some of their own families; some who they haven't been able to reunite with for decades, and some who they may never see again, because they were murdered back in the mother land. The last thing they need is some uneducated useless university privileged big city activists airing praises and sympathies to the very culprits; the vile and rotten scumbags and bastards that endangered those refugees' lives and families.

If, and take a good, hard, long think about this before you continue any mention about the conflicts in question... If
- ...your life has not been put in immediate danger because of whatever opinion you may have against any government that has either been put in power, or has put themselves in power by means of having their opponents killed;
- ...you've never ever had the experience of staring down the barrel of somebody's gun and being in the moment where you could be one mere word away from being shot dead in cold blood, just because you happen to have a view that they disagree with;
- ...you have no involvement with the background of the civilians that are feeling relief about what has happened; eg. you aren't of that background; you don't know anybody of that background;
- ...you don't possess full, educated and unbiased knowledge and understanding of what is occurring from ALL sides of the conflict;
- ...and most crucially, you've never ever lived a single second in a country ruled under a dictatorship or regime, and essentially lived in a situation where one wrong step or one wrong word could be the last word you ever say, or the last step you ever take in your life...

...then think very carefully about what you're posting, how others may be feeling about it because there are a lot who do not want to talk about it, and whether or not you should really be involving yourself in that discussion at all before you accidentally piss the wrong person off, or endanger someone else's life as they end up in the receiving end of a drive-by shooting or a kidnapping. It's also why there are separate topics on this forum for discussing things of that nature.

The number of people who have been taken hook line and sinker by mostly One Nation and some of The nationals that had the previously closed oil refineries from 2009 to 2021 had not closed, the fuel prices would be lower and that there would be the number of dumb arses panic buying which caused some of the petrol stations to run out.

Q. Why did the oil refineries close?

A. Mostly because every day Australian's where getting their Coles, Woolies and other discount coupons and racing off to the Independents and Supermarket fuel stations to buy cheaper imported refined fuel. Mostly its that friggin simple and we won't even touch on the fact that 90% of crude used to supply Australia was imported then and foreign crude is used today, just off-shore. Yet the same people are actively in denial and refusal to believe in BEV could be used to reduce significantly out dependence on oil, most of which is sourced off-shore, refined or not.

Yes the same people who bought cheaper imported cars over local made and wondered why the car industry closed.

Yes the same people who bought cheaper anything over local made and then wondered why those industries close.

Yet somehow its the politicans of todays fault for what you choose to buy 10 - 15 years ago.

Right now we are looking at a house renovation. The architect is actively and I mean strongly encouraging us to buy imported windows from China because they are so much cheaper. Thats the glass, aluminium, paint and sealing all sourced from China rather than using our domestic sources.

People need to accept buying foreign eventually has consequences and to stop blaming the govt for their own past choices.

I apologise for any distress my comment may have caused, but at no point did I or any others say that we supported the Iranian regime??? We don't have to 'pick a side'???
This is not a great place to talk about this so I'll leave it here.

I just ordered a small chips and a chicken schnitzel burger at a charcoal chicken shop (had a craving all week and finally succembed), went to pay with cash and it was very cheerfully accepted.

Nice schnitzel burger too and beautiful chips with great seasoning.
