I was thinking CDC too. The blue ones seem taller than normal B8s and even the all electric ones, I was just heading past on the highway…
I think they would be electrics unless someone is ordering hybrids with more EQ on the roof?

Don't the H2 buses have a lot of equipment on the roof, too? I seem to recall they were notably higher than the usual 3.3m or so of a diesel or CNG bus.

The taller buses (were there just two?) are probably the Wrightbus KG Lite Hydrobus/ Volgren Optimus one of which was presented at the 2024 bus show at Southbank. At the time it was suggested that there would be one each for CDC and one for Transdev but thet may have changed since.

47CBS is now in operation. It's another BusTech VST on Volvo B8RLE.

Hi. I seen a Volvo b8r at Kippa Ring in translink livery but with a sky blue back end, not green. I couldn’t see any numbering on it, had new Translink logos and was on the 660 to Redcliffe, must be a Kangaroo Bus Lines one. Any ideas? Thanks.

Yes new TransLink livery. KBL50 had pictures on volgren Facebook page. They have since received KBL14 and KBL47 assumed to be in the new livery also.

KBL should have 47, 48, 49, 50 and 14 in the new livery.

Thompsons has also apparently recieved 3 more Irizar Volvo B13R’s according to the April deliveries, but cannot find a TBS rego number for them.

Also CDC QLD reported to have gotten 6 more B8RLE’s.

I spotted this PID onboard Thompson Bus Services 084 the other day. It is a Hanover PID unit with some sort of passenger counting device fitted to both doors now as well. Desto controller has been replaced with a Hanover EG4 and I expect this to be added to the rest of the fleet eventually.
