No it doesn't, but that didn't stop even the most remotely unrelated M routes from being renumbered out of the metrobus branded route numbering scheme back in 2019.Linto63 wrote: ↑Tue Sep 03, 2024 9:55 pmDoes the closure of the Bankstown line have any impact on the M90 and M91? Re: Timetable Changes 2024
Would renumbering lead to a better service or make it any easier for passengers to navigate? If not renumbering just for the sake of it would be a vanity exercise.
Re: Timetable Changes 2024,
The petition for public transport improvements by the Pyrmont Peninsula Public Transport Forum for the Pyrmont area has gained some minor traction, the 389 is set to be slightly modified according to the minutes published on the City of Sydney Council website.
Petition tabled.

I would guess that this change will be implemented when there are wholesale timetable changes to train, bus & metro occur at the end of this month.

Maybe just change the letter? What bus changes are happening? As far as we know it is just the introduction of Southwest Link at the end of the month.

Re: Timetable Changes 2024,
Very little is known beyond the vague answer in the previous FAQ.
In addition to these bus changes to support commencement of Sydney Metro services
to the city and Sydenham, Transport has also identified other changes to bus services to
improve access to some Metro stations. Transport will analyse changes in travel demand
once new Metro services commence which will inform future adjustments to bus
services.
We are also in the process of finalising bus timetable adjustments that will be made
alongside the introduction of the new 2024 rail timetable and the closure of the T3
Bankstown Line between Sydenham and Bankstown to ensure that buses integrate with
new train times across the suburban and intercity networks.
These changes will take place across many bus routes within metropolitan Sydney and
will be communicated in advance to passengers, including schools to make sure they
understand what the changes mean and how best to travel.
Re: Timetable Changes 2024,
The majority of the timetable changes will be in Region 6.
Re: Timetable Changes 2024,
Stu wrote: ↑Wed Aug 28, 2024 11:16 pm I found some minor inconsistencies with rail replacement route 23T2. It could be a simple typo or something more.
From 2018 until 2024 the rail replacement route 23T2 operated between Leppington Station and East Hills Station (not stopping at Holsworthy).
During July 2024, route 23T2 was changed to operate between Leppington Station and Granville Station.
The upcoming trackwork on the T2 Line and T8 Line involves the use of rail replacement route 23T2 and will occur on 14-15/9/2024. The TfNSW info website displays the route 23T2 as being reverted back to operating between Leppington Station and East Hills Station and this time the service stops at Holsworthy. https://transportnsw.info/alerts/details#/ems-38588
Ever since part of the T2 Line was renumbered into the T8 Line on 26/11/2017, some of the T2 rail replacement routes were renumbered to T8 accordingly, this freed up some rail replacement route numbers that could be reused on the T2 Line. From my historical records, the following rail replacement route numbers are available for use: 11T2, 12T2, 13T2, 14T2, 19T2, 20T2, 21T2, 34T2, 35T2, 36T2, 37T2, 38T2 & 39T2.
I am happy to be corrected if any of these numbers may be in use and I may not be aware of that fact.
I have provided detailed feedback to TfNSW Info asking for confirmation of what the correct route number is regarding the rail replacement service between Leppington Station and Granville Station.
I haven't received a response from my feedback enquiry although I found routes 2T2 and 22T2 displaying the same destinations and route pattern.

Re: Timetable Changes 2024,
Both. There should be a revised Sector 2 timetable at least, for the introduction of Liverpool to City via Regents Park services as well as "T8" services serving Erskineville and St Peters.
In another thread, Stu mentioned there will also be revised timetables for Region 6.
Re: Timetable Changes 2024,
There will also be services starting from Sydenham to City via Erskinville and St Peters as well Bankstown to Lidcombe Shuttle services, these will be 4 Cars Milleniums.swtt wrote: ↑Sun Sep 08, 2024 5:18 pmBoth. Re: Timetable Changes 2024,
The new rail timetable is still six weeks away. As for bussing, we know general routes are ‘usually’ released two weeks ahead, while bus replacement timetables aren’t always released in the traditional format PDF upload.

Re: Timetable Changes 2024,
Why would they need to be prepared for service? They are already in use and can be in service if required. It’s just that there are no timetabled services stopping at Tempe coming from East Hills or any stations on the Airport line, only Illawarra services stop at Tempe. Whether there is in the next timetable change I’m not sure.Campbelltown busboy wrote: ↑Sun Sep 08, 2024 10:24 pmHow about all stop East Hills-City via Sydenham whitch means platforms 1 and 2 at Tempe would have to be prepared for service as those 2 platforms aren’t used much
Re: Timetable Changes 2024,
Erm, if Bankstown - Sydenham is being shut down officially on 30/9/2024, that's around THREE weeks away. Where did you get the six week calculation from?

Re: Timetable Changes 2024,
These platforms have no passenger information displays. They're only ever used in situations in which Wolli Creek 3/4 is closed, and when this occurs they are the only platforms in metropolitan Sydney to not have displays. Everything else a functional train platform needs is present, however. Presumably it would not be difficult for TfNSW to install a couple screens.BAMBAM wrote: ↑Sun Sep 08, 2024 10:52 pmWhy would they need to be prepared for service? Not sure why a T8 via Sydenham service would ever need to stop at Tempe though (apart from maybe if the T4 is closed for trackwork). Tempe is already served fine by the T4 so it would make a lot more sense for T8 trains to not stop much the same way they currently don't stop there.
