Re: Transport for Brisbane Observations 2024
Back to the bad old days of being stuck on the Victoria Bridge today. Took an extra 10 minurtes to get from the City to the Melbourne Street portal due to Platform 2 at Cultural Centre reopening.
Gone are the two distinct lanes for bus traffic (one to the busway and one to Melbourne Street) at Grey Street so the traffic lights at the end of the portal now have to cope with a single lane of traffic for buses going straight ahead and turning left.
Six buses could get through the Grey/Melbourne Street lights last week, now you are lucky to get two.
IMHO,they should have made the two temporary stops permenent as this configuration was the most effective and efficient that has ever been in place.

Re: Transport for Brisbane Observations 2024
A third permanent latform will be constructed now that the new P2 is operational, which will alleviate the queues for good, hopefully.
Re: Transport for Brisbane Observations 2024
The new configuation at the Cultural Centre is causing major issues for inbound servcies along the busway. During morning peak, buses are now queued every day at least halfway to Southbank busway station. THe traffic lights at Grey and Melbourne Streets do not allow enough buses through from the busway. When the light is green for leaving the busway, the light is red at Grey Street; and if there are buses queued from Melboune Street (i.e. 60,199,333,444, etc) then no buses at all are able to leave the busway.

At least it's only a temporary pain until the new P3 opens at Cultural Centre, and a through-lane to West End is restored (although this will involve a separate light phase at Cultural Centre as the Busway services will have to cross sides of the road here...).
Re: Transport for Brisbane Observations 2024
Looks like half of Platform 2 at KGS is set to open within the next week or 2, with new PIDs and screen doors.
Re: Transport for Brisbane Observations 2024
Very poor design of screen in 2024! They should consolidate all routes in one screen and show what stop for what routes, just like train station and airport!

Re: Transport for Brisbane Observations 2024
They already have all the routes consolidated on bigger screens before heading down to the platforms. As I see it, there is no need to have all the routes displayed at the boarding points as it would become too confusing.zto305 wrote:Very poor design of screen in 2024!
