I figure the reason for that (which I've observed in other Midi battery buses in Europe) is that chopping a couple of metres off the back of the bus has meant that there's no room for equipment in the back of the bus and it has to go under the floor. It's a compromise of being a 10 metre bus. Are 12 metre buses allowed in UK? At least it's only one step, not the mountaineering jobs we're getting in other electric buses in Australia.
