Great news for the people of the north who have been waiting so long!
Will be interesting to see just how many retirements of NLs will take place if not all of them. Also wonder what will happen with Kangas KRail fleet whether they will be used again for any future Rail subs?

Kanga has recently sold off at least five low floors.

Wonder what’s going to happen to the ex Transperth/Dysons
O405NH’s? It’s actually great having them here in SA.

Would they bring them into Adelaide Metro service for a while? Not sure how old they are. Would add another variety!

How could they enter Metro service if they're not with a Metro contractor? I'm not sure why Torrens or either of the others would want to buy them given there are no high floors left to replace.

he 13xx series consists of buses owned by Transit Systems. Although the Ivecos were new, others were acquired from other operators.

The question is though, is there any need for Torrens Transit (or any other operator for that matter) to acquire new buses off their own back? The ex-Darwin NL's have been retired without company owned replacements, and from what it seems there is a number of government owned buses in storage that are themselves less than 25 years old. I also understand that the current contracts are less favourable to company owned buses as the previous contracts were.

I understand that all of the Kanga low floors have been sold on, and some have already been reported as having been sighted heading interstate to their new owners.

As Darwin's castaways from Torren's sibling company Territory Transit have often wound up in Adelaide, I do wonder what will happen when CDC takes over operations formerly handled by Territory Transit in a couple of weeks. Assuming the buses are not simply sold off, I wonder if some might replace the existing fleet of ex Darwin B10s?

It is possible that there is an asset transfer agreement in place, including buses, depots and fittings, between Transit Systems and CDC as part of the handover.

My understanding is all Darwin buses will be transferred to the new contractor. Disposals will then be dependent on new buses arriving as they do in the normal course of events.
