I just hope Transdev will never win more bus contracts in Sydney, preferably Transit Systems, as they are the best bus operator in Sydney I think.Fleet Lists wrote: ↑Fri Dec 18, 2020 8:19 pm https://www.transport.nsw.gov.au/node/11049 for 7, 8 and 9 is the latest I have heard - - nothing on the four in the previous post as all the work being done is on the STA regions at the moment.
Transdev operate their region 10 and 13 on one accreditation and region 12 on another, while Transit Systems operate 3 and 6 on seperate ones, so appears to depend on how they want to do their accounting.Campbelltown busboy wrote: ↑Would Busabout be able to use their Nevilles Bus Service accreditation in more multiple regions if they win bidding for one of the current STA contracts then wins bidding to retain the region 15 contract.
No. Whoever wins each STA region will need to create separate entities. TfNSW have advised the RBTU/ASU and STA drivers it is a condition of the new contracts that there will be a new entities created that can only be used for the specific region (e.g. should Transdev win two of the three regions they would need to create two new entities, one for each region they won). This is to ensure that the operators can't do what TSA did and bring in drivers on different awards and pay rates. This restricts the future enterprise bargaining to only the former STA drivers, rather than mix of new and ex STA drivers that may out vote the ex STA drivers for a new award that is inferior or not better than what the ex STA drivers get, but would be better than the award the new drivers are brought in on.n.Campbelltown busboy wrote: ↑Tue Dec 29, 2020 6:10 pm Would Busabout be able to use their Nevilles Bus Service accreditation in more multiple regions if they win bidding for one of the current STA contracts then wins bidding to retain the region 15 contract
Creating separate entities has nothing to do with preventing an operator allowing two different driving awards to coexist such as what Transit Systems has in Region 6. Transit Systems have two separate entities in NSW yet have two different driving awards within the Region 6 contract area and applied R3 driving awards to new drivers simply because it was not banned by TfNSW.Gusbus wrote: ↑Wed Dec 30, 2020 12:03 am No. Whoever wins each STA region will need to create separate entities. The RTBU didn’t want region 6 to go up for tender to start with. That union would have not gotten over Transport For NSW placing the T80 into region 3 after 8 years of it being a stand alone STA run routeHHH wrote: ↑Wed Dec 30, 2020 3:21 pm Creating separate entities has nothing to do with preventing an operator allowing two different driving awards to coexist such as what Transit Systems has in Region 6. The only reason TfNSW will not be allowing two different driving awards to coexist is because the rtbu complained so much and showed how it was failing. The 18 month 'no change to award' for ex STA drivers expired 12 months ago, the rtbu and Transit Systems blame each other for the failure of negotiations. The twu & rtbu continue to fight on and out of court regarding who is the legitimate union and who can represent which drivers.
