Re: PTA / Transperth & Private Observations - 2020
I've seen Shenton Park (or perhaps it was North Freo) buses doing Circle in the past, so wouldn't surprise me if Mt Claremont does them too, at specific times.
Re: PTA / Transperth & Private Observations - 2020
To the best of my knowledge Shenton Park is the only depot that does full circles, they only do the 0553 999 and the 0617 998 (used to be NF trips). Mount Claremont does a few short circles in the afternoon mainly between Freo and Stirling but they also run the 1457 (mostly) full 998 between UWA and Fremantle.Merc1107 wrote:I've seen Shenton Park (or perhaps it was North Freo) buses doing Circle in the past, so wouldn't surprise me if Mt Claremont does them too, at specific times.
My guess this was a Claremont bus that somehow ended up on SP's morning 998 trip

3002 back in service this morning
Re: PTA / Transperth & Private Observations - 2020
I stand corrected, looks like some shifts have changed around. Just seen 2836 leave Freo on the 0837 full 998 so it looks like that's a regular MCtrip now (on school days at least)Squiddy wrote:To the best of my knowledge Shenton Park is the only depot that does full circles, they only do the 0553 999 and the 0617 998 (used to be NF trips). So Circle route gets input from 4 depots in 4 separate areas managed by 3 operators? I thought only Fremantle, Canning and Morley contracts included this route, not others.

CircleRoute trips can be handed out to any depot that operates near it, which puts a lot of depots into consideration for trips. That's why you can see Southern River and Welshpool operate trips (albeit short runnings, not full length trips).
Cheers!

Funny thing is the Circle route passes nowhere near Gosnells but it runs across the southern portion of Marmion.Off The Rails wrote:CircleRoute trips can be handed out to any depot that operates near it, which puts a lot of depots into consideration for trips. Not general observation, but the Manheim auctions website is down due to a third-party cyber-incident. Access to the website has been restricted as they work with IT security advisors to restore services as soon as possible. NH withdrawals are thereby limited to depot observations.
I'd post any important, bus-related links I had, but they're outdated anyways.
Re: PTA / Transperth & Private Observations - 2020
Alternatively you can just run the plate and if it's no longer valid then it's safe to assume the bus has been fully withdrawn, without having to wait 6+ months for it to maybe show up on ManheimBus Suggestions wrote:Not general observation, but the Manheim auctions website is down due to a third-party cyber-incident. Where are 2854-6? I think 2853 is at CV.
Re: PTA / Transperth & Private Observations - 2020
All Joondalups remaining 1700s were withdrawn and replaced by B7s like... close to six months ago now.Enviro 500 wrote:Replacement for 1764?the c man wrote:2857 has been delivered to Joondalup depot

All of the 2850s up to 56 are at Mt Claremont

Re: PTA / Transperth & Private Observations - 2020
very interesting, perthbus.info has updated 2174, 2175, 2184-86 as being transferred across operators (Swan to Path)Woolies_truck wrote:2175,76,84,85,86 sighted at Malaga depot.

Then that is.. extremely odd. Any reason behind that or just fleet shambling?

Re: PTA / Transperth & Private Observations - 2020
Fleet numbers have been quite a shambles since Path Transit lost their monopoly over the northern coastal suburbs. The 21xx series was originally earmarked for them but went over to Transdev when the latter got Joondalup, so the B7s allocated to Path had to be registered from 2300 onwards.Bus Suggestions wrote:Then that is.. extremely odd. At least Swan Transit didn't take over the 29xx series completely, instead deploying B8s registered from 2857 onwards in Joondalup.
Re: PTA / Transperth & Private Observations - 2020
With the Mirrabooka changes happening in March, Swan (Joondalup) loses a fair amount of running and Path will gain quite a bit. My money's on those 2100s being moved over to Path to cover the difference. Why those buses specifically? I hear they've got a dart board and some blindfolds somewhere...

Re: PTA / Transperth & Private Observations - 2020
Couldn't they have expedited the delivery of B8s 2779-∞ instead? Or maybe Swan Transit has excess buses following the recent contract changes?
Re: PTA / Transperth & Private Observations - 2020
this is my opinion but i could be wrongEnviro 500 wrote:Couldn't they have expedited the delivery of B8s 2779-∞ instead? Or maybe Swan Transit has excess buses following the recent contract changes?
maybe these new delivery is not ready yet for Path north (Malaga and bayswater) now. of course if they need the bus now they can get the bus from other Path Depo (Welshpool, Kalamunda, Redcliffe) but the problem these depo has a lot of running rooster for their own route and maybe in the future some of the route get frequency increase. So maybe they get the bus from Joondalup which most of the the rooster not as busy as welshpool/kalamunda

Re: PTA / Transperth & Private Observations - 2020
If there was excess buses in Joondalup they could have simply moved them to Shenton Park and withdraw more NH's from there.Enviro 500 wrote:Couldn't they have expedited the delivery of B8s 2779-∞ instead? Or maybe Swan Transit has excess buses following the recent contract changes?

Re: PTA / Transperth & Private Observations - 2020
Doing that would still leave Path with a shortage of buses, which doesn't tend to go well when fines for dropping trips add up.
Also, "expeditied the delivery of 2779+" - doesn't tend to go well from a quality perspective (yeah it's a Volgren, but still), plus I'm not sure there are 12 B8's close to, or ready for service yet.
Cheers!
