Not sure if this is the right spot for this, but wasn’t sure where else it would fit.

Went along tonight to the info session for the Regency to Pym road project, specifically to find out some info about the impact on the 230 and 232. As of mid next year Pym street will become left in and out only as part of the project meaning the bus routes will be modified.
The plan on display tonight shows that Days Rd, Pym St and Harrison Road will no longer be serviced and buses to the City will instead travel along Regency Rd right onto South Rd and left onto Torrens Rd and vice versa from the City. As it was for the old 233 (from memory)
The existing stop at Regency Tafe will be used along with 3 (or 4) new stops along South Rd and the 2 existing Stops on Torrens Rd currently used for Footy Services only. One of the South Rd stops will be near the Pym St corner and pedestrian overpass being built as part of the project.

I'm sure that these runs will only traverse the slow lanes that will end up parallel to the South Rd 90 zone, instead of enabling a CNG bus to reach at least 80kph, which would be less boring on what is a lousy route anyway.

231 was the route that went from city via Torrens, South, Regency Rds to Arndale (231A terminated at Arndale), the full 231 then went onto West Lakes via Kilkenny, Port, Old Port, Tapleys Hill
Roads and WL Blvd. This section of it was replaced by the J8 about 6 years ago.

A car which ran a red light this morning at the corner of East Terrace and Grenfell Street collided with a Scania O-Bahn bus heading towards the busway tunnel. A woman and her 2 children were taken to hospital.
The bus suffered a shattered windscreen and minor front end damage. The St Agnes based bus 1284 was on an Edinburgh shift.

I'm sure that these runs will only traverse the slow lanes that will end up parallel to the South Rd 90 zone, instead of enabling a CNG bus to reach at least 80kph, which would be less boring on what is a lousy route anyway.

It's a bit hard to service bus stops on a lowered 90km/h motorway - pedestrians are generally not permitted on motorways, therefore public transport buses cannot use these types of roads, unless part of an express route or similar. Therefore, by necessity, bus routes operate on the surface roads which are generally 60km/h roads.

Last week Morphettville Depot finally saw the end of the long time retired Mercedes O-Bahn Artics and Rigids,many of which were barely shells.
Today saw the first lot of MAN SG 280H Artics at Elizabeth Depot towed away to Sims Metal ,and as was the case with the Mercs they will become scrap.
It is expected the balance will be towed away tomorrow.

Scania Artic 953 has been transferred from St Agnes Depot to Morphettville Depot.

On Friday 13th and 20th December there will be additional 544/540 buses between the City and TTP and vice versa.

Some recent changes that have taken place with Torrens Transit buses.
Scania O-Bahn rigid 1420 transferred from Edinburgh to Port Adelaide depot.
Port Depot Scania 1241 transferred from Port Adelaide depot to St Agnes.
Scania O-Bahn rigids 1432 and 1433 have gone from St Agnes to Edinburgh.

Another O-Bahn Scania rigid off the road after an accident with a truck this morning at the corner of Golden Grove Road and the Golden Way.
It was St Agnes 1469.

866-870 - possibly nothing yet?

1045 is the last Scania Bustech delivered. Refer fleetlists,which is up to date.
New deliveries should start appearing in February wben the new contracr begins.

The new bus contracts begin in July, and who says there will be a new contractor? Do you know the tender results?

I think he meant the new contract for the supply of buses (i.e. Scania and Bustech) rather than a contract for the provision of services.

#BREAKING: VICTORIAN GOVERNMENT OFFERS OVERLAND REPRIEVE

The Victorian Government says it’s offered to extend its support for the passenger rail service between Melbourne and Adelaide for three months as uncertainty continues surrounding its future.

The government continued to subsidise Great Southern Rail’s operation of the Overland after South Australia axed its financial contribution but the current deal runs out after Tuesday.

“To give holidaymakers certainty, the Victorian Government has offered to extend the Overland train until the end of March 2020,” a spokesman for the Andrews Government said today.

“Given the South Australian Liberal Government's cut to the service, Victoria will use the next three months to continue discussions with Journey Beyond about the future of the Overland.

“This gives the South Australian Liberal Government three months to reassess its cut in funding for the service — which is primarily used by South Australians.”
