Goodbye to the rooftop gardens?
Re: Elizabeth Quay bus station redevelopment lots 1334 & 1335 Mounts Bay road
Maybe? Looks like it's being built directly on top of the EQBS concourse, perhaps extending a bit into the gardens but doesn't look like it'll take up much more than that.
I'd certainly be happy to see a refurbishment of EQ's concourse. It looks and feels very dated.

The concourse rendition is interesting, exactly where is the access to the platforms meant to be?

The existing floor plan will mostly be retained a number of under utilised shop fronts will be refurbished, the images provided in the original post were in the amendment the ones below are from the original 2018 submission to DPLHMerc1107 wrote:The concourse rendition is interesting, exactly where is the access to the platforms meant to be?

The project was approved in 2018 by the LDAP (DPLH) and is currently at an advanced planning stage with tenders to be called for construction, I’ll re-upload higher quality renders

There was talk for a while in regards to EQBS getting Dynamic Stand Allocation and having the platforms sealed off from the roadways, with automatic doors at each stand (similar to PUB). I wonder if that will happen with these modifications
If it's not a ZF, take it back!

It’s still in the planning stages. I couldn’t find any information in the DPLH report about EQBS getting platform doors and dynamic stand allocation, it’s just an upgrade to the concourse including new roof the archways will be removed, brick cladding as well as opening it up with more doors, windows, new tenants and upgrades to the gardensBus-1809 wrote:There was talk for a while in regards to EQBS getting Dynamic Stand Allocation and having the platforms sealed off from the roadways, with automatic doors at each stand (similar to PUB). This has crossed my mind as well given the numerous instances I've observed passengers wonder onto the road ways either by mistake or on purpose to jump the fence and get to the EQ train station quicker. Given safety risks involved this idea is something that should be seriously considered, i've seen some very close calls with people nearly hit by buses and other vehicles on the EQ bus station road ways.
