1257 and 1269 have been off traffic/withdrawn for some time now. Perthbus.info only shows when they were actually officially decommissioned.
If it's not a ZF, take it back!

1481/2 are heading to bunbury seen them in midvale depot today with transbunbury branding and with white fleet numbers
Re: PTA / Transperth & Private Observations - 2020
I don’t think they’ll be leaving the metro area anytime soon at least until the restrictions are lifted unless swan and PTA get a permit it would be classed as non essential travelthe c man wrote:1481/2 are heading to bunbury seen them in midvale depot today with transbunbury branding and with white fleet numbers

How would this be deemed as non-essential travel? Sure you can make a case for pretty much anything being 'non-essential' if you want to be technical but in reality this is logistics. It's the movement of essential people and/or equipment. They're government metro buses, with one or two employees aboard, being driven down South. Anyone with half a brain would know that they're not driving down there on holiday. Hell, I'd say it's almost certain that they won't even be stopped.TP1462 wrote:I don’t think they’ll be leaving the metro area anytime soon at least until the restrictions are lifted unless swan and PTA get a permit it would be classed as non essential travel

I thought the 21XX CR228 Volvos were the next to get sent out to the bush?

Re: PTA / Transperth & Private Observations - 2020
I guess it's based on age, for example 2124 (the first B7 in the 21xx series) is still in Perth while 1483 is out in Bunbury partially because 1483 was delivered in 02/2012 while 2124 was delivered in 08/2012, so expect mainly the 1400s and 1600s out regional first.
I'd post any important, bus-related links I had, but they're outdated anyways.
Re: PTA / Transperth & Private Observations - 2020
FYI if anyone want to know the first B7 was 1462. btw if it really based on the aged. the path b7 (1462, 230x) which delivered in 2011 should be heading first before 21xBus Suggestions wrote:I guess it's based on age, for example 2124 (the first B7 in the 21xx series) is still in Perth while 1483 is out in Bunbury partially because 1483 was delivered in 02/2012 while 2124 was delivered in 08/2012, so expect mainly the 1400s and 1600s out regional first.

It's also probably since Swan holds the Bunbury/Busselton/Albany contracts, they can send any of their buses between Perth and their contracts. Meanwhile Path holds only Kalgoorlie-Boulder/Coolgardie (TransGoldfields) and Geraldton. It would also (somewhat) be up to the operators whether they send buses regional or not.pasha241 wrote:FYI if anyone want to know the first B7 was 1462. btw if it really based on the aged. the path b7 (1462, 230x) which delivered in 2011 should be heading first before 21xBus Suggestions wrote:I guess it's based on age, for example 2124 (the first B7 in the 21xx series) is still in Perth while 1483 is out in Bunbury partially because 1483 was delivered in 02/2012 while 2124 was delivered in 08/2012, so expect mainly the 1400s and 1600s out regional first.

Re: PTA / Transperth & Private Observations - 2020
I guess that could be the case, but I imagine a vehicle's general condition is also a determining factor in whether or not it gets sent to the regions.Bus Suggestions wrote:It's also probably since Swan holds the Bunbury/Busselton/Albany contracts, they can send any of their buses between Perth and their contracts. There was a time when the contracts were held by local businesses in the regions, for example Loves Bus Service in Bunbury, so not sure how they determined what got sent down. Obviously as the fleet are all Government-owned buses, the PTA probably have some say in things too.

Re: PTA / Transperth & Private Observations - 2020
I'd say PTA say what buses go, but would probably be using Swan buses to go to Bunbury as Bunbury is a TSA Contract, hence why they are getting so many B8's at the moment.

Re: PTA / Transperth & Private Observations - 2020
There are still a fair few NHs in Kalgoorlie. Wonder if they will be slated for the auction floor soon.
Also, Trans Geraldton hasn't bee updated with the new operator.

Re: PTA / Transperth & Private Observations - 2020
This is purely speculation and someone correct me if I'm mistaken, but in terms of the Transperth fleet we don't have any buses in service that were built between the last NHs in mid-2002 and the first OCs that were built in mid-2004. There was a bit of a pause in deliveries at the time and also saw the CNG NHs delivered, which have already been replaced.Enviro 500 wrote:There are still a fair few NHs in Kalgoorlie. I reckon that as the number of NHs in Perth dwindles and we run out of buses that immediately need replacing, we'll start seeing these regional NHs withdrawn, replaced with B7s from the metro fleet, which in turn will be replaced by new B8s. Just my thinking anyway.
Don't hold your breath on that one. Also, Trans Geraldton hasn't bee updated with the new operator.

1438 refurbished that should leave 1439 as the last swan bus at Southern River to be refurbished

I don't see B8's going regional. B7's though, yes.
The only delivery between 1362 and 1235 was 1854 which has already been replaced as far as I am aware.

Re: PTA / Transperth & Private Observations - 2020
To clarify, I meant that new B8s will replace the B7s when they leave the metro fleet, not that B8s will head out into the countryBus-1809 wrote:I don't see B8's going regional. B7's though, yes.

Re: PTA / Transperth & Private Observations - 2020
I know that most of Volvo 14xx buses have relocated down south to Bunbury as Bunbury is under SWan Transit. I know that there are a few NH buses (1155-57) in Busselton. I know to the point that these buses are 20 years old. 1157-58 buses have been withdrawn from Busselton services, though they were not refurbished. I know that the number of O405NH diesels in the WA fleet are shrinking due to the delivery of newer fuel efficient Volvo B8s. How many of the O405nh buses are left in Transregionals before they are retired?
Re: PTA / Transperth & Private Observations - 2020
As far as regional fleets are concerned, the information currently on perthbus.info is correct to the best of my knowledge. 52 ex-Transperth NHs in regional WA, plus five oddball NHs in Biusselton, 811-814 and 816, so 57 in totalShoudy Chen wrote:How many of the O405nh buses are left in Transregionals before they are retired?

Re: PTA / Transperth & Private Observations - 2020
3007 and 3026 have been popping up here and there. I presume it's just to give them a run and keep them going, considering they will go back onto their normal schedules next week.

Re: PTA / Transperth & Private Observations - 2020
3007 and 3026 are the only diesels in Gosnells aren't they? All others are CNG vehicles.
Wondering if Gosnells will ever be allocated B8 rigids.

Re: PTA / Transperth & Private Observations - 2020
Yes they’re currently the only diesels at Southern River and and as they’re artics the current schedule requires them for school and peak capacity given the OC500LE is the next batch up for the replacement it’s more than likely Southern River will be refreshed with Volvo’s probably a mix of older 2400 & 2500s maybe a few new B8RLE as PTA has entered into a winding down arrangement of the CNG facilities with the supplierEnviro 500 wrote:3007 and 3026 are the only diesels in Gosnells aren't they?
