Re: Bus Routes - What would you do if you were in charge?
This route should run on Weekends to Whitfords because west of Landsdale there is no bus service on weekends untill you hit Wanneroo road and south to the 372 terminus near the farm school. People in this area deserve a weekend service as its one of the fastest growing areas in WA. And I hate having to go through Mirrabooka to go to the city on Saturday it takes to long and I dont feel safe going through there after having a trip where one of the locals went off at all the Asians on the bus - bus it to the train is a lot quicker for me.TP3001 wrote:

If you delete 347 as mentioned in your ideas, which is great u are being so thorough, what do u propose to service Eglinton Crescent during the day?
Route 64 maybe?
Route 342 should be left as it is as it was only meant to give linkage to central Vic Park for Belmont Residents, and give service to parts of Vic park (ie King George St/Jarrah Rd) whilst giving an extra service to Curtin.

To be honest I'm not entirely sure of the specifics here but how about something along the lines of:

79 - ANTI-CLOCKWISE Perth-SCGH-UWA-Perth
88 - CLOCKWISE Perth-UWA-SCGH-Perth via "loop"

Re: Bus Routes - What would you do if you were in charge?
I'll get back to you on the 347. Remind me though. As mentioned route 64 would be an alternative but services along Wanneroo Rd would be changed to accomodate a two 900series services to operate along the route. As for the 342 it will be replaced by a 900series service from the airport and will operate as a service link between Curtin Uni and the Domestic Airport.Leyland B21 wrote:If you delete 347 as mentioned in your ideas, which is great u are being so thorough, what do u propose to service Eglinton Crescent during the day?

Re: Bus Routes - What would you do if you were in charge?
The 374 used to have a limited stops pattern during peak periods up until about 4 or 5 years ago. From my experience, limited stops along Wanneroo Rd in peak periods is a waste of time. That's because of the volume of traffic and the nature of traffic lights, you get nowhere fast like an all stops service. I can recall when running the (now defunct) 888 service, the 888 was like a 346 during peaks as it got held up just as much in the bottlenecks. Unless the geography or capacity of Wanneroo Rd has improved, limited stops is pointless.busdriver12 wrote:TP1854 wrote:route 374 should be limited stop's to walcott street then limited stop's from alexander drive to wsbs and a run every 20min's from 7am to 9am

IIRC, the 375 route was created upon the commencement of Mirrabooka Bus Station in 1979. It provided a link to Nollamara Shopping Centre from Balga/Girrawheen and also to Mirrabooka Shopping Centre. As a note of interest, the loop that it does via Hewitt Way Balga (off Cartwright Rd) is to service the old 353 terminus which from memory was deleted when Mirrabooka Bus Station came into operation. My memory is a little fuzzy but I think it's close to the mark.
yes bus driver 12 the 375 goes right of muswell st into cartwright st right into hewitt rd then right back into muswell st to resume normal route. I know this as i live on one of these streets above.

Well, they have....that's what I alluded to previously - 700s seem to have been renumbered for school specials exclusively which is not entirely a bad idea teeps.TP3001 wrote:Nah How about Transperth renumber them?TP1854 wrote:Tp3001 some of those 700 route numbers you have put up are school special service. This practice is already partly in use, but I'm unsure of the allocations at the moment. But I do know 500-599 is allocated to the Mandurah Line.
