Scania K93 - so many questions

Post by Dazthecowboy »

I recently bought a 1993 Scania K93 motor coach.
I have so many questions.
First is, what are these warning lights meaning?

Thank you in advance.

The S is a next stop request indication; the other one looks like an engine fire indication.

Oh wow! Haha ok. Cause it only comes on when I plug a relay in that had been removed. Like a lot of relays have been removed. But I found when I plug that one in particular in it brings up that light. I also noticed they have unplugged the ECU under the steering column. But one thing at a time.
Thank you for letting me know.

The S light should be operated by a latching relay which resets it when the front door is opened

Hi Guy_Arab
That would be fantastic. I'll get it as soon as I get home this arvo. I'm kinda flying blind with it at the moment and would love as much information as I can get.
I know it had and engine upgrade to a K113. I do enjoy the extra HP but it has made other things problematic. Like the ECU being disconnected. As well as other lights on the dash not working. Not to mention all the relays that have been pulled out.

The factory dashboard may have provision for numerous warnings, which are not necessarily fitted at body construction.Note that you mention that it is a "coach" so the S light is probably not connected at all. Likewise the fire warning

Also not unknown for the operators to modify wiring to suit their own needs.

Thanks Boronia. That makes me feel a little better.

I took a picture of the builders label for you Guy_Arab I really hope I can get more information about it.

It is from Lidcombe. from my understanding it was used with a tour company there. The body was poorly maintained but the engine seems so so.
Any reason there would be a K113 in a K93 body?

Dazthecowboy, email me at galaxys1961@gmail.com and I'll send you the K93 Driver Manual PDF.

Type SCANIA K93 in the Subject line, so I can find it when it arrives.

Cheers,
Tony

Newly bought bus owner starting the motorhome conversion of a K93 bus (motorcoach body). Hoping to track down as many manuals as possible, wiring being the priority. Any suggestions? thanks guys.
