January 2021 timetable changes
January 2021 timetable changes
Does anyone know if there will be the normal January timetable changes next month? Or will there be any bus timetable changes linked to the new Seaford/Flinders Line timetables which start after Christmas?
Re: January 2021 timetable changes
I doubt there willbe any changes to bus services when new timetable for Seaford/Flinders Link timetable begins on December 28th.

Re: January 2021 timetable changes
I’d hope there’d be a few time tweaks for 600/601/320s at Flinders, other than that I’d doubt any major changes will happen
First person on 822, 865 (2016 re-route).

Re: January 2021 timetable changes
Problem with tweaking the times for the 600/601 to coincide with trains at Flinders may mean a loss of connectivity to trains at Blackwood. I think that train connection may be slightly more important than one at Flinders.

Re: January 2021 timetable changes
Trouble is that if you change 1 timetable these days ,you invariably have to change others because of the way shifts are structured.
Re: January 2021 timetable changes
Can Confirm there will be late January Timetable Changes , to coincide with the start of the new school year.
Shifts often change at the end of holidays anyway.
Why is that. Shifts are set by the contractors , timetables ( mostly) are set by by the Government.

Re: January 2021 timetable changes
Nick-do you know if there are many routes with changes, or are these mainly running times changes?

Re: January 2021 timetable changes
There should be timetables for school holidays that are separate to normal school days.
10 minutes of laying over on one trip before the halfway point is not exactly encouraging to new patrons. But then, that's probably why the DIT doesn't adjust them in the first place! Some of the peak timetables are disgraceful.

Re: January 2021 timetable changes
I believe AdMet are planning to move to separate peak/off peak timetables.
Re: January 2021 timetable changes
I wonder what purpose this will serve?
Re: January 2021 timetable changes
sounds awfully pointless, seeing as the timetables already are different for peak+off peak. if anything it will make timetables more confusing
Re: January 2021 timetable changes
It certainly won't save on paper,as most people don't carry a paper timetable.
Its almost impossible to get hold of one these days. Only way is to download and print one.

Re: January 2021 timetable changes
It would appear that the proposed timetable changes will mainly involve running times-similar to that which occurred last July.
I wonder when Adelaide Metro will sit down and properly plan timetables to eliminate excessive time wasting at key check points?

Well I believe they we’re going to for the New Network, but according to the general public, what we have is perfect and doesn’t need change.

Re: January 2021 timetable changes
With the new timetables likely starting for the new School year, I presume Sunday 24th January will be the start date. Therefore information on the changes should be out early next week I would guess!
Re: January 2021 timetable changes
Schools return on Wednesday 27th January-could that be starting date of new timetables?

Re: January 2021 timetable changes
Seems unusual to have timetables starting on a Wednesday; but in saying that it seems silly to have a special lot of shifts for one school holiday day.

Re: January 2021 timetable changes
Good point Phonj and Jibb
Potentially they'll start on the 26th on the Public Holiday.
Any idea if the changes will involve more than tweaking of time points? I'm thinking that as a new contractor Busways may have some changes they want to implement in the Outer South?

Re: January 2021 timetable changes
Officially School starts on Monday 25 of January. However its a student free day due to the public holiday.
So the timetables could change on the Sunday as normal, and handel the Monday as another student free day ( albeit statewide)

The SA Government Department for Education website lists the school term starting on Wednesday 27th January - this is the official date.

Yes, Busways had a large array of changes they wanted to implement. Unfortunately, everyone in Adelaide seems to be stuck in the 1970s, and the whole scheme was scrapped.

Does not mean that Busways can't alter their timetables and routes. Some ideas that were proposed in the ill-fated upgrade were fantastic ideas.Lt. Re: January 2021 timetable changes
Timetables and routes (and fares) are totally government responsibility, with the companies (Busways, Torrens, Southlink) contracted to run the actual services. I understand that as part of the tender process companies were asked to include possible changes/improvements to the areas being tendered for. The government's attempt to implement many of these changes during 2020 was the big failure under the previous transport Minister that we are all aware of. In answer to you question, bigrobbo, Busways cannot alter their timetables and routes.
