Re: [July 2012] SA Transport Observations
It seems that 1801 has been built to STA Sydney specs, judging by the rubber mounted windows, double width centre door and the external mirror arms
Previously known as 12th Man

TT's 1255 is back in service after the 'front-end' crash. It now has NO Red smile.

Re: [July 2012] SA Transport Observations
1801 is a cancelled Sydney Buses order.

Re: [July 2012] SA Transport Observations
I have some questions;retiredbendy wrote:http://www.flickr.com/photos/ryanthesco ... hotostreamjibb wrote:Would be great to see photos of this new vehicle.
What is(in the Flickr photo of inside of the bus) the black large area directly in point of view, and does it have a front (in photo) left seat??
Thanks in advance:-)
Re: [July 2012] SA Transport Observations
I assume you mean what looks to be the little black room up the back?citidas203 wrote:I have some questions;

I believe that's part of the engine, the cooling system perhaps.

The engine itself is in there... The bus does have a front left seat, but the space where the front right seat would be, behind the driver, is a luggage bay.

Close. It was built alongside the Sydney Buses Scanias in Sydney but was always intended to be a Scania demo, with the Sydney Buses specs as a basis. Demo arrangements fell through and it was put up for sale some months ago.Dave C wrote:1801 is a cancelled Sydney Buses order.

So who bought 1801 then? Transfield or the SA government?

Saw #765 with a 'S' on it's windscreen.

Re: [July 2012] SA Transport Observations
Still a fair bit of confusion with the new setup. Zone E is now operational but Zone A is now out of action so the 100/231/300 are using Zone E also...which is the reverse of last week when Zone E was closed and the 250-254 were stopping at Zone A (sometimes).retiredbendy wrote:Here is the new Árndale Interchange'.
Bit of a hike from the shops to the new stops at the moment (especially Zone A and B) and there are no shelters and very little lighting, hopefully this improves in the next few weeks.

SouthLink's 3230 has entered service now and I just saw it on a 861 on Currie St.
Saw 1605 on a 'B10'.
Also saw LCB's 895 and it has TT's signing above the drivers window.

Re: [July 2012] SA Transport Observations
Where did you see it? Maybe it was on a G10, as that bus was last reported as being with LCB. B10 and G10 look almost identical on the flip-dot matrix.retiredbendy wrote:Saw 1605 on a 'B10'.
Re: [July 2012] SA Transport Observations
1605 is definitely an LCB bus based at Morphettville Depot. It arrived at Marion this afternoon on a G10 and after a short layover left on a 248.
It seems the new rosters might be working better than before the July changes.Buses now seem to have longer layover times and there are more services running closer to schedule than previously.
Good news Light-City buses!
retiredbendy-B10 is an East-West service operated by Torrens Transit

There are 6 O- Bahn Scania's that have had their speed limited to 85kmh by Workshop for "engineering reasons".. There are speed limit changes coming for the Busway also
Re: [July 2012] SA Transport Observations
Will that affect schedules /running times?
Re: [July 2012] SA Transport Observations
In today's SA Government Tenders section, tenders have been called for the sale of 2 Mercedes Rigids and 1 Artic buses(all 1985 ex O-Bahn vehicles).
