Brighton Terminus, Jubilee Ave. Did one every day last week starting an X8 from this point. Also discovered from the locals that some naughty drivers don't bother with the Dollery Park loop when doing this run. No idea why; it's a nice easy run with plenty of time.

I was trying to figure out for about 5min. WHAT bus # this was. I could see it was a satelitte bus (with tool box & triangles) but I could also see it MUST have been air-conditioned because of lack of opening windows. Then I was trying to remember which 12.5 had 4 side seats @ front. Had to be a later # because side desto is afixed up high. THEN.....Duh!! I read the # AND details below the picture. (shouldn't check emails/PC straight after waking up)  PS: Len36 would be right too, I'd say :D

#245 has been with Metro since 2007. It was replacement bus for #229 which caught fire on the Main Road at Granton and was destroyed. Metro also have 3 Scania Volgren bodied 14.5M buses. This one has the steertag rear axle wheras the other 3 do not. #245 is based at the Bridgewater satellite yard and primarily does the X1 route.

I AM SOMEWHAT SUPRISED, YOU, of all people Albion, have NOT seen a THREAD about #245. Especially since you seem to keep up with the Tas Section. I, myself have put on quite a few threads about the bus, as well as metro_tas, who normally drives it when the other driver is on leave. The bus itself has featured heavily on numerous threads about Hobart over the last 12-18mths. AFAIK, #245 was the 1st STEERABLE tag CITYBUS in service in Australia. Brisbane has now introduced them also.

I'm afraid Mr Nut has it again. If you look closely at the rear of the bus, I even obscured the name of the units on the fence to try and make it harder. That did a lot of good didn't it? Here's a shot from another angle. Too good Mr Nut. My "where is it" photo supply is now officially exhausted.
