Re: Transport for Brisbane Observations 2020
A questionable decision, tho, as all the buses I've seen are less than 20% full. Is the demand really high enough for artics to be used at this point in time? I guess most people (including myself) are going to be staying at home most of the time until this pandemic is over!qut391 wrote:S1651 is on Route 111 today. 15:22 & 16:37 Departure from Roma Street and 16:00 Departure from 8 Mile Plains.

Re: Transport for Brisbane Observations 2020
I imagine the use of artics is to help with social distancing - and of course, with three doors on the Volvo B8s in particular, it helps stop everyone bunching up at one door loading and unloading which only helps the cause.
Re: Transport for Brisbane Observations 2020
A good question. I think that is because the council wants to offer a loose ride environment for passengers.BT Enthusiast wrote:A questionable decision, tho, as all the buses I've seen are less than 20% full. Re: Transport for Brisbane Observations 2020
I remember there was a news article about City Council rolling out new artics for Blue CityGlider in May. Wondering these buses are starting from E1653 (?)
btw I just spotted E2105 on Blue CityGlider this afternoon, 14:25 inbound from West End to Teneriffe Ferry.

Saw G627 In the city this avo - when are the planning on retiring the last 7 Scanias?
Yeah, what’s happening with all the new deliveries of the B8RLEs and B8RLEAs? Are they postponed due to COVID19?

Re: Transport for Brisbane Observations 2020
Yes, I believe they are postponed. 2894 has been the newest rigid and 1652 has been the newest artic for a month or so now. Enth guide to BT lists that up to 2900 will be delivered and up to 1660, but I haven't seen anything newer than 2894. Anyway, they should be opening up shop again as the restrictions are eased.
