Well, it's been a few weeks since the streets of Perth was graced by these glorious machines, I hope everyone's dealing with the withdrawals okay
I can't bring them back, but I can at least pretend they're still around by sharing some of the last photos I took of some units. Captions above each pic.
1784 on one of its final days in service, running a short 998 from Stirling (where the pic was taken) to Morley. Taken 20th February 2019
The last photo I got of a Transcom, 1793 entering Elizabeth Quay Station on a peak-hour 950 to QEII. Taken 25th October 2019
1795 about two weeks before its premature demise, entering the CBD on a short 960 to Mt. Lawley ECU. Taken 9th April 2019
1805 on its final day in service (possibly last run, not sure if it went out in the afternoon), leaving Freo Station empty towards Fremantle Depot, on the morning of 18th February 2019
1812 on possibly its final route in service, leaving the CBD towards Fremantle Station on a 910F, on the morning of 20th February 2019.
1814 entering Murdoch Station on a 513 on the afternoon of 17th October 2019, possibly on its last day in service as two days later...
1814 sitting on the back fence of Rockingham Depot, alongside its buddy 1813, their careers both finished. Taken 19th October 2019
Transdev's final surviving gassie, 1815 leaving Fremantle Station on a 501T on its second-last route in service. It would later return to Fremantle on return 501, and then leave to the depot for the final time, its career finished. Taken 1st November 2019
And lastly, Transdev's second-last surviving gassie, 1819 leaving Fremantle Station on a 502T, on the morning of 25th October 2019, a couple of days before its withdrawal.
Enjoy!
Edit: I forgot to mention, feel free to add your own photos if you like!

Re: Farewell O405NH CNGs
Thankfully my life with them continues. Starting in Perth, now I'm in Melbourne for last 17 years and get to see them again and even travel on them regularly. Travelled on them with Swan, SCT and Path. Now I travel on them with T2B (Dineen Group), VTC (Victorian Touring Coaches), Sandhu, Mees, Dysons, Donric etc

Re: Farewell O405NH CNGs
To clarify, I am talking about the 48 CNG-powered NHs, fleet nos. 1772-1819, which are all now withdrawn and it's likely they'll all be sent to scrap. We still have a fair number (about 90) of diesel-powered NHs in service, which are the ones you see running for the private operators over EastLeyland B21 wrote:Thankfully my life with them continues. Re: Farewell O405NH CNGs
There was an NH gassie (1788?) advertised on Gumtree until about yesterday, and it's since been sold... I wonder if retzlaff picked it up?

I'd post any important, bus-related links I had, but they're outdated anyways.

Was it sold, or advertised merely to gauge interest?

1791 and 1792 have survived so far I think.
If it's not a ZF, take it back!

Re: Farewell O405NH CNGs
Man, this is so uncanny that the buses lasted in service for 22 years and still look like they are less than a decade old, but sad and emotional because they really represent the last of the line of the line for oldschool Merc buses/ first of the line for kneeling and higher tech designs with much more electronics than had been seen on a bus in the past.
I remember it like it was only yesterday back in 1999, when these new space age silver bullets started gracing the streets , highways and byways of Perth. We had waited so long for new buses to join the ageing fleet that many people had all but given up on the hope of seeing a new arrival to the Transperth fleet.
But they proved themselves time in time out in service and made any skeptics eat their hats.
It's going to be weird seeing a bus in the BPS fleet that I and many still view as ' current ' ..
Bon Voyage Mr and Ms ' O '
