Brisbane Flood Pics

Post by PAQ12 »

Here are some images I took today. Didn't go into the City (at least not yet). There are some disturbing images for those that don't like graffitti.

Bowen Hills bus depot.
All buses & drivers relocated. The buses were suppose to be at Virginia and Larapinta, however when I went past Virginia, couldn't see a Bowen Hills bus in sight...
Bowen Hills Depot.jpg
Rack & Stack 'em boys.
Due to the Mayne Railway yards either going under or potentially to go under, all the rolling stock excluding a couple were put onto the north & west lines.
Train Stacking 1.jpg
Train Stacking 2.jpg
Although I do have one question, how come the trains aren't underneath the bridge? I'm sure there is a logical answer, it just aint coming to me though!

Vandals Attack!
Well the images says it all. Please, if you read this forum and you were the culprit, make yourself known! I'm sure there is a lynching mob just waiting for you!

There some dead-set mongrels who would take advantage of a bad situation and wreck something I hope they get the pieces of garbage and jail them. What looting and now vandal`s paint cans graffiti a train makes you sick looking at it.

Makes me sick that these scum bags have not gone down the Brisbane River with all of their tins of paint . I just get peeved off that when they get caught painting they go to court and all of the do gooders in the system try to help them by saying they need help . I would offer to help them .. the old way....

Go past any stabling yard on a weekend and see how many units remain energized all weekend.

Well at least they weren't knocking off other peoples property thats all i'll say.

Could the pantos have been down in case there were surges in the overhead do to other sections going out, not wanting to damage any electrics in the unit?

I saw it. the needless tagging of "X was ere" and all that is stupid. but, and I never thought I'd say this, some of the more full body, colourful graffiti actual looks bright and vibrant. I'm not overlooking that it's illegal, or that it was still dangerous of them to go down there and do this to them, I'm just saying that maybe Brisbane would be better of for a unit or 2 in an allowed colourful scheme, painted legally by youngsters who have gone through the right channels to do so.

some of it still makes me sick, especially that able bodied people are graffiting trains, rather than help clean up, move furniture, etc.

My very simple thought on the matter - what happens if the bridge goes down?

As a taxpayer, they were knocking off my property by defacing the train. Sure they haven't stolen it, but they'll have the trains off the rails while they're cleaned. Psuedo-theft!

I hate to say it, noofnoof, but I agree. Every morning I look at the koala/teddybear on back of the buildings adjoining Toombul station and it gives me a bit of a smile because it's well formed art, lively, and bright. Perhaps a few of the old rattlers could be used as graffiti canvas's for a few weeks before their last month of service (eg so there's never any plans of them being cleaned or resprayed)

Two charged following vandalism of trains

Police have issued a Notice to Appear to two men, aged 22 and 20 following vandalism caused to Queensland Rail trains last week.

On Wednesday, police from The Gap charged a 20-year-old man from Jindalee with one count each of wilful damage (graffiti), possession of graffiti implement and obstruct police.

Yesterday, members of the joint Brisbane City Council and Queensland Police Service Taskforce Against Graffiti charged a 22-year-old Corinda man with one count of wilful damage (graffiti).

Both men were charged for their alleged involvement in the graffiti of four train carriages that had been parked near the Taringa Railway Station during the floods.

Police have been working in partnership with Queensland Rail and Brisbane City Council as part of the investigation.

Police are investigating further offenders in relation to this offence and advise more arrests are likely to be made in the near future. Anyone who has information relating to this offence or knows of anyone who may have been involved is strongly encouraged to call Crime Stoppers.

Exactly the same logical explanation I was thinking of.

Agreed there are some talented artists amongst these arseclowns, and some of their "work" is brilliant. The bottom line is though, if you let one or two get done, then these wankers start doing more, and more and more, then you have XXX painted all over everything, and each one of these dole bludging pot smoking shitheads will be painting over each others vandalism to show theirs up. Why do you think they clean this crap up straight away? because if its removed straight away, these unemployed ****** Pi$$ off and go elsewhere. The old station master at redbank used to Roster his staff on 1/2 hr early so they could wander around with the paint tin each morning and cover up the drug fukked painting from the night before. Eventually, there was sweet FUK ALL graffiti each day, because they realised nobody was seeing it.
GRAFFITI "ARTISTS" ARE DRUG ************ CRIMINALS WHO VANDALISE AND DEFACE OTHER PEOPLE'S PROPERTY WITHOUT ANY REMORSE. If they were so cool and tough like they pretend to be, then why do they hide at night and do it. BECAUSE THEY ARE ALSO GUTLESS PIECES OF ****** WHO HAVE NO BALLS, AND ARE TOO SCARED THAT IF SOMEONE CATCHES THEM, THEY MIGHT GET THE ABSOLUTE CRAP BELTED OUT OF THEM. Every time you see one of the dickheads arrested, they are crying like little babies, "oh no please dont put me in the cell with that big man, who has been here for the past ten years, my arse is gonna get ******" HAHAHAHAHA that what they need the little *********!
