That pic of 97 will become a gem in time.
A good post all round 8/10 would rate.

They were subcontracting on the inter urban portion of the closure.

Why do Hillsbus destos look so terrible, why do they not follow the other company destos or STA types?
Re: Various Private Operators March - May
Can you please explain, There's only one hillsbus desto in this thread and its not really terrible.Rosieposie wrote:Why do Hillsbus destos look so terrible, why do they not follow the other company destos or STA types?

... CDC destos have always looked good. I don't see what the problem is.

CDC's are being reprogrammed lately and to my eye look terrible. It's back to the old main desto, then scroll for the via desto. E.G:Mitch wrote:... CDC destos have always looked good. I don't see what the problem is.

I've seen some with two and I think possible three "via desto" screens, meaning the main destination is not visible for a long length of time.
To me it's a retrograde step.

Re: Various Private Operators March - May
Have to say the latest CDC program does not look professional at all.
Re: Various Private Operators March - May
I have to agree. What a complete mishmash of desto's. Most City desto's say City on the top line with either Railway Square or QVB on the bottom, but the 607x just has Railway Square, plus the outbound desto says "Rouse Hill TC". Surely they could have put Rouse Hill Town Centre, like on the T65. The other day I was doing a 618 with the desto showing "Norwest Bussiness Park". Someone needs to check their spelling.Geoff wrote:Have to say the latest CDC program does not look professional at all.

Sometimes you wonder whether it's Year 10 work experience students without any knowledge of bus destos programming these things.Geoff wrote:Have to say the latest CDC program does not look professional at all.
Transdev North (Shorelink) are no better. They had good destos a couple of years ago but someone decided to wipe out the good STA style ones and replace it with their own vastly inferior destos styles.

Some Hillsbus/Westbus destos did look good, but the majority are terrible.

Re: Various Private Operators March - May
I agree with those posts above. Another retrograde step has been the smaller font size now used in the rear destos for the four digit numbers, making it harder to read. Interestingly, Seven Hills depot uses a different file which is much better, except for the scrolling rear desto.
I outlined my observations regarding to the reprogramming here back in February: http://www.busaustralia.com/forum/viewt ... 48#p903548

Re: Various Private Operators March - May
Probably the worse one which still seems to be going around on some buses is the "M60 Parramatta" desto. The route number "M60" switches from the right to the left side of the destination display on one of the rotations!
Re: Various Private Operators March - May
IS there a requirement from TfNSW that destos must be of a sufficiently good quality?Mr OC Benz wrote:Probably the worse one which still seems to be going around on some buses is the "M60 Parramatta" desto. Cos CDC certainly has a lot of room to improve on this side of customer service!

Re: Various Private Operators March - May
As long as CDC Victoria doesn't get the same treatment, I'm happy
They can't be as bad as Cranbourne Transit's. Some, if not all, screens that have a "via" point have "via" as an individual screen.
Thanks,
Mitchul ;{
