Re: Ventura Group News 2019
Would this mean that Drivers as well as Routes operated have relocated to Croydon. It would be of interest to know which Routes each depot now operates. Also which routes are now shared between depots.
From my observation is appears the 670 is shared by Lilydale and Knoxfield; the 732 and 737 are shared by Knoxfield and either Lilydale or Croydon.

The bulk of eastern suburbs routes are shared between Lilydale, Croydon, Knoxfield and Monbulk. Very mininimal routes now are solely allocated to particular depotsmiclementson wrote:Would this mean that Drivers as well as Routes operated have relocated to Croydon. Re: Ventura Group News 2019
The only routes that seem to be still exclusive to Knox depot(according to what I have observed) are the 201 Box Hill to Deakin Uni and the 768 Box Hill to Deakin. The majority of the rest of them are shared, a driver told me that they are often far away from their base depot for parts of their shift. 732 and 737 as mentioned above seem to be an mixture of Knoxfield,Lilydale or Croydon drivers and buses which make them interesting with some of the older ex US buses making appearances. With Oakleigh soon to be sharing with Dandenong and Moorabbin, as previously mentioned, I would think the Ivanhoe(Heidelberg) routes would be the only standalone depot in the Ventura network.
Re: Ventura Group News 2019
one has to wonder if Seaford and Rosebud will remain standalone. Seaford has a number of 782s that start/finish at Balnarring and 781s from Mt Martha, and Rosebud has a number of 788s that start/end at Frankston. I would think its unlikely they will change but still food for thought. without doing calculations I would also suspect Seaford is closer for 708s and Dandenong potentially for some of the 833's

Re: Ventura Group News 2019
Starting to see a lot more "foreign" buses on the 742 these days. At the "Eastland" "terminus" (the bus stop doesn't deserve either name) I have so far spotted a CB60 Evo 2 last week, Scania bubble 858 three days ago, and an older ex-Invicta CR228L today (orange handrails and a barely readable green desto). I know this is just a repeat of what has been said before about Lilydale/Croydon/Knoxfield etc. sharing buses, but it's infinitely more interesting than seeing the same four or so bus types all the time.

None of the 788 buses start and finish in FrankstonAndy O wrote:one has to wonder if Seaford and Rosebud will remain standalone. Only 1 of the 5 buses start in Frankston (finishes in Portsea)
2 start in Rosebud and 2 start in Portsea
Artics 1271, 1378 & 1379 all on Route 788 today...
I'm not sure Seaford would have the room for 3 Artics?
Anyone know if 63 is still at Rosebud?
As for the other routes you mentioned, anything is possible
Interesting times ahead
Re: Ventura Group News 2019
63 is listed as being at Pakenham according to the fleet lists.
65 has been listed as withdrawn, with it's rego cancelled according the the VicRoads online rego checker. Probably been replaced with one of the new ones.
It still seems like yesterday these buses were entering service and were the latest and greatest in artics. The 19 years have flown by.

Hello,
#63 replaced #65 at Rosebud.
#63 is still at Rosebud, and is allocated to one of the Padua College (Mornington) school runs- morning and afternoon.
#1379 entered service for the first time yesterday, however it didn't last the whole day! Was changed over with #1059 early afternoon.

Re: Ventura Group News 2019
im guessing its only on loan but #1361 Scania has been operating Sandy rail replacement since that started out of Moorabbin. Still has new bus smell but unfortunately as of this morning it now has its 3rd Scratch/dent.
Re: Ventura Group News 2019
Seen this afternoon on route 758 was 717, an ex Lilydale Volgren bodied Dart.

Rode 857 (Volvo/CR228L) from Ringwood to Vermont South (742) last night.
Re: Ventura Group News 2019
Noticed on the fleetlist updates that the three Ethanol buses have now been moved into the rail fleet, and a few early 2000's buses have been scrapped such as 40 and 41 ex US Bus Lines MAN NL202s and 1190 Scania L94UB/CB60 (the second one of that batch to be scrapped this year)

VG5000 will be Ventura #1419 and it's a Scania K310UB.

Volgren all day, every day
Dear T80; If the decker's not a Volgren, I'm not interested.
Westbus Fairfield + Dandy Hub = perfection
Good old Collingwood forever.
Long live the potato cake.

Re: Ventura Group News 2019
Is there going to be a Christmas bus this year? Have not seen anything on the road, and checked Ventura's Twitter and Facebook and there is no mention of a Christmas bus.
Re: Ventura Group News 2019
I did see somebody ask that same question on Ventura's facebook page in mid November and the answer from Ventura was that there will be a Christmas bus this year. I haven't sighted it yet. Haven't seen any photos of it online yet either.
Re: Ventura Group News 2019
As of today still no sighting of a Ventura Christmas bus, and nothing online either. Might send an email enquiry. Seems strange as it is usually on the road the first week of December, unless they have cut out a week from the schedule this year.
Re: Ventura Group News 2019
Good news, Christmas bus started today and the schedules are on Ventura's website.
Re: Ventura Group News 2019
Had a ride on one of the Christmas buses today, Knox based #1343 Scania K310UB Volgren Optimus is doing the rounds in the Eastern Region, response from the travelling public, at least on the trip I travelled on was a little lukewarm. Top marks to Ventura for continuing this tradition, it was very well done.

Re: Ventura Group News 2019
Alright, if anyone is after VG5000 (Ventura #1419), it is at the Seaford depot.
Huh, I thought it was going to Dandenong depot... guess not.
