This link should show the map of greater Sydney and therefore the points beyond which masks would presumably not be required.

Re: Extra Covid 19 services
The train guards on the Southern Highlands line make announcements stating at which point it becomes mandatory to wear a face mask, which is between Yerrinbool and Bargo stations.
There is no requirement for anybody to wear a mask whilst traveling on the line of that point, and the majority of passengers from my experience choose not to do so, as do the station staff in those areas.
Personally I think it's probably time for them to re-consider that rule in general. I've noticed the number of people not complying with it in Sydney has increased lately, though given that nobody at all is known to have the disease in NSW outside of quarantine hotels, it's not hard to see why people are less concerned.

https://www.nsw.gov.au/media-releases/m ... -transportMasks will no longer be mandatory on public transport from Wednesday 21 September.
The NSW Government will remove the requirement for people to wear masks on public transport, including taxis and rideshare services, in transport waiting areas and the indoor areas of cruise terminals.

Re: Extra Covid 19 services
In view of the low level of compliance and enforcement, why isn't it effective immediately?
