If your looking for them the fleet numbers are: 2979 ST and 2980 ST. :)
Those would be the first two since the Ivecos came in five or so years ago. R doesn't have any high floors so other depots have usually been higher up in the pecking order for new buses, plus they did get a substantial portion of both the original B7 and K280UB CB80 order.
R though has the low entry Scania L113CRLs without wheelchair access which can be an issue on routes that are predominately operated by R i.e. 370 & 304.

Yep, no high floors, but the least accessible STA depot, at 82%. (Willoughby has thrown out enough TRBs that it's now at 85%.)

^ The non-wheelchair low entry Scania buses are normally sent out in peak hour only, for a short amount of hours on preferably high frequency routes and school routes.

The STA AMD Leichhardt yard has been tidied up (withdrawn buses removed) which may mean that some more deliveries may be on the way, the only two units remaining are a VOLVO B12BLEA and a Merc OC500LE CNG - both buses caught fire.

What the. When has equitable access ever been considered a “luxury”?

Bustech VST returns as a new delivery for STA at Willoughby, was about to give a massive thumbs down, but then I saw it’s the Volvo B8RLE version instead of the dreaded Scania K310UB so I’m like nah ok then that actually sounds pretty good then!

Saw a couple 333 Bondi Link buses off regular services:
1) X77 at The Spot, Randwick
2) 893 at Eddy Ave, Central

Dont know if these were the same buses or not, as there was half an hour to an hour between spottings.
Love the sound of Volvo B12BLEA, Mercedes O405NH, Scania K280UB

Been happening in peak since they have been wrapped. In fact the first time I saw a bus in the Bondi Link wrap was on a X77...

Buses with special liveries for certain routes always find their way away from those routes somehow.

Just ride a Volvo B7RLE with the same body.

Just wondering, is it normal for a regular 376 service to Railway Sq to use the Moore Park Busway?
This occured today (04/07/19), leaving Randwick at 7amish, and getting to the Busway about 7:15amish.
Although, being stuck in a few traffic lights kinda defeats the purpose of the busway vs the main roads. :)

It's been useless since they gelded it to a ridiculous 50 km/h and there's little or no priority at intersections. Getting on and off it isn't worth the hassle.
Maybe inbound in the peaks is the only time it's any good, hence why it was used.

338, 373-4-6-7, X39-40, X73-4-7 all use the Moore Park Busway in the AM peak (7am-9am). It is only really useful if there is a large bank up of traffic that would take more than one cycle to clear on Alison Road at Anzac Parade, in which case it can save you about 2 minutes if that.

In the PM peak (4pm-7pm), only the X39, X73-4-7 use the Moore Park Busway, and again, its only useful if the traffic on Anzac Parade to cross Cleveland Street is more than one cycle long. But once again, its only a 2 minute saving.

It will be interesting to see whether this changes when the light rail opens (with better traffic light priority) and I suspect a few of these routes cut.

Particularly with the new large Moore Park Interchange that opened a few weeks ago.

Certainly when there are events on at Moore Park it would be better if all buses used the busway given the number of interruptions from turning cars.

^ before the busway was signalised at Lang Rd in 1999 even 372 (a Cleveland St service) used the busway.

Some Anzac Pde X services used the busway until a union ban put an end to it?

All(?) 39x/X9x/L94 services used the busway except 393 until some kid got himself collected on the busway c. 2002 and the union banned its use for all services. Anzac Pde services never came back because between the new 50km/h speed limit, the fenced stops which could only hold one or two buses for set down/pick-up, the long wait at Lang Rd, the long wait to enter the busway at Robertson Rd and the difficulty of merging across left to right on Anzac Pde it no longer saved any time.

But provision to do so remains in the CSELR reconstruction of the intersections. Now with longer entrance slip lane on Anzac Pde northbound at Robertson Rd.

Prior to BBE the L94 used to stop at Lang Rd!
