Your Favorite Livery(ies)

Post by Lt. Commander Data »

What are your favorite liveries? Bus, Rail, Airborne or otherwise, list them here.

My favorite bus livery is the HillsTranist Livery. I don't have any photos of it, but one can be found here. The bus in the background (with the green and yellow) is in HillsTransit Livery.

That brings us on to my favorite livery that is still being used. The TransitPlus livery. On the same link above, the bus in the foreground (with the red, blue and yellow) is in TransitPlus livery. My own photos of buses in this livery can be found here. There are only 3 buses in this livery, and there only ever have been that many.

My favorite rail livery is the old TransAdelaide one, orange and silver. Some pictures here (not mine).

My favorite Aeroplane livery is the Air NZ livery, with the all-black planes (except for the white "silver fern"). I don't have any pictures of it, but a Google Search can easily find it.

Take it away folks.

Favourite bus livery - TP1831 having the Emirates Livery. This promotes that the airline flies to many European Cities.
Favourite airline livery - Emirates B777-300ER having the FIFAWC 2014 livery. FIFA WC is the most exciting television sporting event on the planet.

The Adelaide STA had a colourful Leyland Worldmaster painted up.It was called the "Coastal Clipper".I think it ran during summer along the beachside suburbs of Adelaide.Does anyone else remember the bus? Where did that bus end up? They did another one in AOA called "Choc Shake" Farmers Union chocolate milk.Is it the same bus?

As for coaches.I always liked the colours of Smekels when they ran the Brisbane -Sydney service around 1985-86. I think it was called EET Express. Anyone want to photosshop some old coach photos from the 80s?

As for airlines. The F27 Fokker Friendship always looked better in the TAA colours of the 1970s than the Ansett livery of the same time.

My fave is definitely not definitely not the Serco livery. However, I actually did like Hills Transit Livery on those single door B58s, although my favourite would probably be the yellow and brown livery on the old Volvos.

TBH, I don't think the STA livery on the SL202s suited them that well, but it doesn't mean that seeing a photo of 1322 at TTP on a TL3 doesn't stand out to me a bit either...

Why'd this question have to be asked? It's making me want to do some fooling around in Paint Shop Pro

I think my favourite liveries are as follows:

Bus: I actually quite liked the old LaTrobe Valley Bus Lines/Advance Coaches livery. That, and the TransPerth livery.

Airline: There's two, and I'm torn. I really like the Royal Brunei livery, and I'm quite a fan of the Aeroflot Russia livery as well.

Train: Definitely the PTV livery on the V/Locity 160 units in Melbourne.

Thanks,
Mitchul :)

Bus: PTV and transperth liveries

Train: Melb. Metro and transperth B-Series liveries
Cheers!
I'd post any important, bus-related links I had, but they're outdated anyways.

I am allowed to change my mind, aren't I?

1. Transperth B-Series livery.
2. PT>/Metro Trains Melbourne livery.
3. Garuda Indonesia new livery.
4. TransJakarta new (2016) livery
5. The Picasso to Warhol AOA livery that used to adorn a certain Transperth bus... I forgot which one.
6. Melbourne Bus Link livery.
7. 2010 Transperth bus livery.
8. The new (2017(?)) Malaysia Airlines livery.

It's not ranked based on favourites, it's only a listing.

Why is there not a (currently active) thread for least favourites?

If there was, my first mention would be the AdMet V2 livery (on a CB80). The interiors in these are just as unattractive.

Well I can't pick a single favorite, so...

- Metro Trains Melbourne (especially when PTV adopted this and unformed it to the trams, buses and V/Line.)
- Double mention for the liveries on the E-Class, the Vlocity 160, and any Volgren Optimus, especially CDC Wyndham's #135 (The double-deck Volgren).
- CDC's Canary Yellow (Yep, not the most exciting thing in the world, but I don't care; A yellow Volgren always meant I'm back at home.)
- Bosnjaks
- Baxters
- Hopkinsons (especially on a CB60 Evo II)
- Ventura Bus Lines
- Grenda Bus Lines
- The TfNSW bus livery on a Volgren CR228L or Optimus.
- Transperth
- Transit First
- SmartBus (such a shame that these just about ALWAYS get vandalized)
- Metrobus (since all of Transdev NSW's 30 Volgren CR228L B7RLEs are wearing this)
- The Citydecker livery on the Suburban Silver trains
- The original black scheme on the Tangaras (not really a livery, but whatever.)
- The blue & yellow on the Interurban V Sets
- Transport Canberra's blue livery on a Volgren Optimus.
- Since I'm a Fijian, anything to do with Air Pacific/Fiji Airways.
- The Yellow and black 13CABS livery, especially on a Ford Falcon

And funny you mention it TA3001, because my least favorite is the Punchbowl Bus Company livery on M/O 809 (A Scania L113CRL Austral Pacific that got re-fronted with a PMC Metro 90 face, leading to a ugly mess up around the front.) That, along with just about anything that goes on a Bustech. (but who am I kidding, Bustechs themselves are hideous enough already.)

This one is my favourite bus livery! Not too over the top, the signwriting breaks up the white panels perfectly and it's so clean and neat... I'm a tad biased though!

For some reason the older King Bros livery makes me feel nostalgic for some reason. I really like their livery, very colorful and something you don't really see anymore.
Image

MK1 Canary yellow livery with red stripes on some older CDC MAN's in 2000. Can't recall if some of the O405NH's CC550 featured this livery temporary or not. Shame the red stripe didn't last for long. I always daydream that if I got to preserve an ex CDC MAN 12.220 I'd do it back up in this livery.

Bosnjak / Westbus 1980's - 199x livery

Really pre 2010 when state mandated livery didn't exist I felt like operators use to put a lot more effort in making their fleet stand out. Sadly most days it's just a white bus with a random stripe applied somewhere along the bus, sure it's better than just being plain old boring right but I like colours and seeing operators vehicles not always look the same as their competitors.

It's a issue that operators now can only get new buses when the government says it's ok for operators to get new buses when it comes to these Transport For NSW contracts witch says all new buses are contracted witch means that operators have lease agreements with the government for every new bus ordered by contract holding operators are required to to be painted in the mandated blue and white livery
