BYD buses in Victoria London

Post by 1of55 »

On a visit to London recently I traveled on a BYD fully electric bus, 507 - Waterloo station to Victoria bus station. They have been running on this route since 2013 and are very well suited to the stop start progress towards the destination, as the traffic congestion is horrendous in spite of a congestion zone tax on other vehicles. When it did get a clear run to around 30 MPH I thought the motors were quite noisy and certainly not as smooth and quiet as the Optare Metrocity on route 312 which I travelled on in 2015.

The bus can travel up to 250km (155 miles) on a single four or five hour charge - sufficient to operate for a full day without the need to recharge
