Looks like they are using a Scania KUB chassis. Hope these can be exported to Singapore and Western Australia one day.

KUB is only a low-entry chassis as I understand, which means it's an obsolescent design. WA is on the right path with its Volgren Volvo electrics and the Custom Denning Element is also a far better Australian low-floor bus. Singapore has low-floor Yutong E12s, so no point going backwards to a poorer design. It looks like the Bustech ventures to supply electric buses to Malaysia and Dubai didn't go any further.

There is no reference to Scania being involved at all in the article, so not sure where that came from in the first place...

From studying the details in the article it looks more likely to be an integral bus made in Malaysia, with Japanese electronics.

Front looks like a Gemilang KUB one. Also, according to this blog post, it seems that Scania may have supplied the chassis. The vehicle is registered VAD8412 and had been previously deployed in Putrajaya.

A real shame this project was mothballed and the vehicles left to rot.

I'd rather have them built on a large scale and put on revenue service instead of the PRC ones.
