Australia wants to get more customers but as the American dollar is the main world currency when they print lots more https://www.reddit.com/r/CryptoCurrency ... have_been/ our dollar becomes uncompetitive so perhaps we can order the 20 TBM from China to be paid in Yuan and not only start trading with them again but can compete worldwide.

I would like to respond to a few of the comments.

Sydney/Canberra Maglev may not happen for 40 years but the same money will be spent in that time on a surface route when you account for service roads, land purchase, fences, bridges and the maintenance of them.

It is true the smaller tunnel of the Boring company would be cheaper but I doubt if the general public would initially accept a reduced pressure tunnel and it is also true that the Chinese will have a Maglev that can use higher temperature superconductors but I think that they will find 1cm clearance will be insufficient to go 600km/h and they will need the proven Japanese 10cm clearance.

Australia is not a de facto province of China and likes to trade with anybody but we do mine many things including uranium.

Hmm. This catched my eye because I am interested in MagLev and potential. But I'm thinking you're no so serious. Your link have the connection but are beside the ball, not so solid or with depth. Good luck with the task but I think you are more fan than man with correct impact.

Are these links sufficient or were you after something more recent?

The way I look at it is if we cannot afford it now when we are still selling iron ore and coal, how would we ever be able to provide a fast reliable green train in the future when we may not be.

To my mind it would provide a transition of our mining skills to tunnelling before they are lost but I am sure there are many other things other people would like to spend $20b on.

I saw SCOMO on TV today and I really doubt that he wants to do anything like this.

This costs $14b https://www.tunneltalk.com/Australia-28 ... proved.php and only brings more cars into the city and then you will have to spend heaps upgrading the road south of Hawksbury.

Also down the bottom it says they are still working out the EIS for the Western harbour crossing regardless of the opposition, good luck with that.

Surely it would be smarter to spend that same amount connecting Parrahub/Canberra airport with the proven 600 km/h Japanese maglev.

The Australian RBA printed another $100b yesterday so Parrahub/Canberra airport may be possible after all https://www.smh.com.au/politics/federal ... 56yre.html

As I said before regarding education, you have to do to learn and I assure there would be much learning.

Australia is having a lot of trouble ringing China so perhaps a Chinese TBM manufacturer could contact someone here for a chat.

I am only a humble old guy with a great interest in doing Parrahub/Canberra airport right and I believe we already have sufficient evidence of TBM and Japanese maglev performance to have no need of any ineffective surface drilling which can easily be done from the 10 launch sites with directional drilling.

As it would cost the same as surface HSR and would be a great tourist attraction while providing real jobs for the unemployed surely it is better than job seeker.

With the advances in automation, I believe tunnels will be far cheaper than surface in the future https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=FgKhZPMRmBo

As the Japanese maglev https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=7Cy_Ie6JZWs takes 3 minutes and 22 kilometres to reach 600km/h I think it would be better to only have passing stations at 200km intervals through a straight tunnel rather than going on the surface like CLARA

Where there is proven demand Parrahub/Canberra and eventually to Melbourne I think CLARA is just wish full thinking but I may be wrong.

Although China claims 600km/h in 5 years which I have doubts because of only 1 cm clearance the Japanese proven 600km/h maglev could be bought off the shelf.

For anyone interested Lok Home has 100% of Robbins now https://www.tunneltalk.com/Company-News ... gement.php

It is interesting that he spoke of Australian Tony Peach of Terratec Tasmania who made the still standing record of the Blue mountains sewerage tunnel who I had spoken to regarding a new concept.
