Re: Driving technique
Nothing will ever be as quick/ fast as the olden trams, great news also the front door delays have been reprogrammed, and now they open and close at the same time as the driver pushes the buttons as all the other vehicles. This is much better than the previous set-up. Moreton

Re: Driving technique
Saftey features introduced in NSW, so they thought we might like it up here, so the last batch all have the U BEAUT, low pressure door closing set-up, which when you do a stop on a steep slope the doors wont close, you cannot move bus, sounds great if you are on a flat piece of road, but on a hill.....

Re: Driving technique
Just another update guys, the latest offering B7 Optimus, you now have an interlocker on front doors, when you pull up at a stop, hand brake on, count to 8 and then you can hit door open button and another 4 seconds and front doors will open. (You cannot move the bus, unless front and back doors are...

The tail lights, brake lights, indicators are not of much use in bright sun light, some other road users don't seem to be able to see them clearly...have not seen one in the night time as yet. Moreton

Re: The Metroliners (B10M mk3 and mk4)
All metros will be gone by next year, some are going well, some are not, so most will be going to Mainheims as soon as they can get them there, as you might already know the spare parts lists for the mark 3/4 series is diminishing very quickly and some are not going to make it through machinery test...

Re: BT Fleet size and impact of SEQ Network changes
Most of the money is wasted in getting concession passengers in and out of the University of Qld, no rail to Uni, so buses have to be used, all buses funneled into the Uni which loses the most money in Aust. If the Uni and Hospitals were built on the Rail corridors like almost all other cities, there...

They trailed a few different next stop lights a few years back, some were retro fitted to some MAN's, but the one that most drivers went for was this one, great to see them on the latest set-up in bright sun light, they still show up much better than the european set-up, staring into the centre of a ...

E2072 not in service yet, nobody has been shown how to operate all the buttons on the left side of dash as yet, may take a bit of time as everyone was getting used to them all on the right, will be just right for lefties, maybe they had a few lefties on the final layout design panel...? Moreton

I do believe, Virginia use the numbers on desto, to relay how much gas is remaining in tank, as some PM runs need more fuel than others, so if you have a long run, you will need more gas in tank to get the job done...I could be wrong. Moreton

Re: Driving technique
Just the set-up of each particular vehicle, is a very precise setting, you get one vehicle that has an easy set-up that works quite well, then you have to give-over to another vehicle, that has a much different set-up and you have to try and adapt to that set-up, so for some route operators these da...

We all hear what you are saying Dom, but most of the newer rigs are only push button FNR driver has very little input over gear selection, down steep hills, you are fighting the brake pedal, engine brake is also automatic,so trying to control a steady descent takes a great deal of control/management....

Re: Driving technique
Newer vehicles do not allow for this driving style you are talking about, the jerking driver is most probably an ex-taxi driver and is just continuing their bad habits, newer models now come with converter and door interlocks and you cannot speed them up, they cannot be rushed as the older buses you...
