... and I can't remember an O-Bahn bus being painted into the Brown Bomber livery (but I might be wrong!).
Ironically, 240 was later renumbered 7000, and painted as a Bomber!

It bugs me that traders have this school of thought that everyone drives to their shop and must get a park outside it. Having frequented shops and venues along Nicholson Street before, I have found plenty of parking in side streets. Heaven forbid someone has to park off the main drag and walk somew...

UrgeOverkill, I don't understand how Driver's care for their branding and appearance is anal. Rather, I would have thought that it was good business sense, particularly seeing the fleet is nowhere the size of Ventura (for example) and it would have been a relatively easy proposition. At least they w...

Re: Photo request-Grenda's Early Volvos
Hi, Pete. I was at Grenda's in the early eighties - Have fond memories of the "90" series Volvos. I don't recall 75 being a Volvo. I know that at one stage, 75 was a Leyland Leopard, bodied by Denning. I think that this was replaced by a Bedford BLP, bodied by PMC. Similarly, I recall 24 (...

Re: Fare evasion on Melbourne buses
Paul_Nicholson,
I don't know which zone(s) you travel in, but the message on trams in Zone 1 is "You don't need to touch off, to pay the lowest fare", whereas the message on trains is "Touch on and Touch off". Maybe these mixed messages are the issue?

Re: Adelaide Bus Company in Norwood or Kent Town in '60s?
Denv12, The bus companies that I remember from that era that were predominantly blue were Thomas Tours, Cole's, Lang's, Foote's and Bonds. I think that you posted a photo of an early Lang's CAC Bedford recently in another post. They used to have the Australian Coat of Arms on the side. Regards, Paul

Was it Bonds? I recall that they had a small depot with space for about four (?) vehicles. It was in Fullarton Road, south of the Parade, from memory (on the corner of Boskenna Ave?)

Trevor,
I have seen a photo of Leyland Worldmaster 816 (converted to one-man operation) that was running out of of Angas Street Depot into service showing 9B and both Newton and Day Street. It is taken in Victoria Square. I will have to look for it and let you know!

It looks like the destination at the front is not quite right. Is this just the photos (angle, etc.), or is it somehow mis-sized?
