Re: Introducing OPAL Card
Could they merely have taken the coil out of an Opal card and put it into the watch / another card? Either way, he's up for a fine if a transport officer pulls him up for breaching the terms of use That's almost certainly what's happened here. The encryption used in Opal cards is impossible (for th...

Re: Light rail gets the green light: stage 1 UNSW to CBD
Returning it to three lanes south of Todman Avenue would still relieve a lot of the traffic congestion in the interim. There's the bus stops which are not separated from the traffic lanes, but another major contributor to traffic congestion is the way that left turning traffic no longer has its own ...

Re: Wynyard Walk
. An impressive elevator in circular glass between Wynyard Concourse level and the main walk level. Just what these who really need lifts wanted - one likely to attract even more users! You'd think people would have the courtesy to let the disabled/infirm on first, but based on what I've seen with ...

A large VMS is up informing motorists that Doncaster Avenue will be closed off at Anzac Parade from some date soon. Is this the first major intersection having the tracks laid?

Re: Commuter Car Parking availability along B Line
All commuter car parks should have a blanket 24 hour parking limit before the cars are towed (or charged a stupidly high parking fee, like $50 a day). Too many abandoned cars litter CityRail commuter car parks across the city. I reckon commuter car parks along the B-line route will absolutely need t...

Self serve checkouts won't accept it (but the staff will manually override it i think). I wonder if there have been any major incidents where shopkeepers think it's some foreign currency or something.

I would make a requirement that if an old thread is to be resurrected, it must be accompanied by at least 200 words of meaningful information.

Re: Introducing OPAL Card
I've noticed often on buses that the "failed" screen and beep doesn't cause passengers to check why, they just walk on and put their card away. Some proportion of those people are not looking because they know they are fare evaders. Very similar to the old ticket machines where people either insert...

Re: Additional right turn lane: Grand Pde into President Ave
The intersection of Bestic Street and General Holmes Drive is pretty crap. When coming from Bestic Street turning left onto General Holmes Drive turning from the leftmost lane, you go around the corner and come across a bunch of parked cars. People often just change lanes within the intersection, ca...
