Re: Old Metroad Numbers still on Signs

It'd vary a lot (by person and by route), but some route numbers would be very useful. I always used to notice the indecision / last-second change of mind of people driving Queensland-plated vehicles off the northern end of the Sydney Harbour Bridge. The sign showed Metroad 1 up the Warringah Fwy (s...

But the number of drivers will correlate with the number of *sets*, and with 111 instead of 108 there won't be a lot of extra drivers required.

I travelled on B2 and B1 on Sunday afternoon. (I don't even have an app or anything to check what's coming - they just happened to be the next trains that turned up when I wanted to travel.)

Re: Opal Card Fare Issues

News (on all media) have a pathological fear of words without illustration, so I think a lot of the time the pics / footage are just there for "this is what a train looks like", rather than specifically related to the story. I'm sure they'd show pics of Thomas The Tank Engine if there was nothing el...

They obviously didn't have enough time to proofread it properly - perhaps they also didn't notice that there was already a right turn provision for buses.

Re: Newcastle light rail, renewal & integrated transport

At Fleet Lists, you know exactly what I meant. People whinge about the ATDB being empty and getting emptier - stop treating the place like a downmarket pub, where you're just incoherently mumbling on to your mates after a couple too many glasses. You know what you mean, whether that's Newcastle Int...

Last time I checked, the downloadable pdf was six months - only problem is, it's not rolling, so if you're near the end of the fixed schedule...

Is that the sort of thing where they need a mass concrete trackbed, or would they stay with stone ballast?

And depending on your own personal rules for this collection, that may allow you to consolidate number ranges, too. (Depends on how you treat a continuous number range which still had outstanding deliveries at the time some buses within that range were "withdrawn"/transferred.)

Yes, because they were part of that fleet (just withdrawn from State Transit service rather earlier than would normally be the case :P ).

Are those 'transferred' still regarded as "in the STA basic Fleet'...and thus the Fleet Numbers still are in the listing...??? Up until 30th Jun...

You can burrow through, starting from http://fleetlists.busaustralia.com/index-nsw.php but here's a summary. 2886-2892 are K310UB with CB80 bodies, transferred to Transit Systems 2893-2903 are same as above, but kept by State Transit (3 yet to be delivered) 2904-2912 are K310UB with Optimus bodies, ...

Re: Station Link Observations

All it needs is the removal of the silly no right turn from Help to Railway St. It doesn't even need that, buses are exempt and are allowed to turn right there. The 545 (well the old one did) turns right there all the time. However, if the StationLink buses turned right there they wouldn't be able ...
