Re: [July/Aug 2021] SA transport observations

That wouldn’t allow them to send out an SMS to all the people who boarded, say, the 5.25pm X30 from Grenfell St. At least all the people who scanned the QR code on boarding. Instant notification of close contacts with a live Covid case, advising them to isolate. A smart card, I assume you meant metr...

Re: [July/Aug 2021] SA transport observations

I heard on Monday that they were all being done this week. Quite a lengthy process as every bus must have an individual QR code otherwise tracing won't work.

Re: SA lockdown

Skexis, I didn’t. It was in Tim Williams earlier post claiming that drivers get paid wage loadings when driving artics, referring to the expense of artics being used on Glen Osmond Rd runs. I know Torrens drivers don’t, hence my comment. If you read my later post it shows I could find no reference t...

Re: SA lockdown

I’ve checked Southlinks drivers agreement on the Fair Work website. No mention anywhere of wage loadings for artics: where are you getting this info about wage loadings from?

Re: SA lockdown

Southlink must be the only drivers who get wage loadings for driving artics. I thought that only applied back in the government days. As they’re still running all regular services, even during Covid lockdown, I would’ve thought that all/most artics would still need to be on the road just to meet dis...

Re: SA lockdown

In Adelaide Sunday timetables kick in not long before 8am on most routes. Not much good for the people who are still going to work, like the essential workers. Sydney’s Sunday timetables are far more comprehensive than Adelaide’s. I did one early route this morning that had 6 people on, all staff wh...

5701 definitely has EV tags on both number plates and therefore classified as an Electric vehicle for rego purposes.

Re: The Random Admet Question Thread

All hybrid cars (I own one) must now have triangular blue EV tags on front and back number plates (for info of emergency services, just like CNG and LPG vehicles are tagged with red discs). EV stands for electric vehicle. Have a look next time you see 5701 or 5702 as they should be tagged as EV. So ...

1251 sitting behind workshops at Port depot with no engine in it, after being towed back earlier this week. I think you can add that to the list.

Re: (May/June 2021) Transport observations

I think the R means they’ve been given a life extension to assist with covering rail subs, not necessarily to do the subs but to release other buses (mainly artics) to do them. Same thing happened with Seaford Rail subs years ago when the Mercs (rigid and artic) and MAN SG artics had R prefixes but ...

Re: New Scania Bustech Hybrid

Quite a few track buses every day have issues with their tunnel senders. They cannot enter the tunnel and divert via Botanic Rd or Rundle Rd. They can still use the obahn track, just not the tunnel. The sender is fixed later. They don’t have their guide wheels removed and taken off track duties.

1121 and 1122 have been relocated to Port, with 1001 and 1002 having left, I’m assuming both to St Agnes.

Re: [Jan/Feb 2021] SA Transport observations

257 has only just returned to service after being rear-ended by another NL202 diesel on Churchill Rd in early December. Quite possibly the exhaust has been modified as part of the repairs needed from the accident.

Re: Gawler Rail Line shutdown

And the only time cruise ship shuttles have been run by government contractors (Torrens) is when the Outer Harbor line has been out of action. Last lot of cruises (pre-Corona) had passengers using trains to get to city, with special Cruise MetroCards being sold on at the Outer Harbor station ticket ...
