Interesting - let's hope it is an isolated incident. Although I understand why they need to be (for downloading and updating etc), I am surprised the ticket/opal system are always powered, even when the bus battery is switched off.

I couldn't find anything on the Opal website about use on Special Events buses. Presumably you just tap on/off as normal, same as you do if you went by train?
