Re: Timetable Changes 2024,
I won't be surprised if the 540 or 544 ends up being transferred to Transit Systems South West, but considering the 525 is mostly outside of Region 7 operating area it could also be a potential candidate for transfer to Transit Systems Inner West. However TSA Region 6 are also short on drivers and ...

Re: Western Sydney Airport (WSA) Rapid Bus Routes - Campbelltown, Liverpool and Penrith
The business case for the WSA metro states that it would only have 880 passengers per hour in the peak direction in the early years. With 15tph, that equates to around 60 passengers per train or 20 passengers per carriage in a 3 car train. It's no wonder that the focus has now been changed to exten...

Re: Timetable Changes 2024,
Something, perhaps the mentioned 516, will need to replace the 288 leg from Epping & Pittwater Rds through Coxs Rd, Kent Rd to Macquarie. Something will need to pickup at Fullers Br for Chatswood West with the axe of the 259. Maybe that will all be combined -= Chatswood to Macquarie via Fullers...

Re: Timetable Changes 2024
Presumably the 525 is being curtailed to release assets, agree the Strathfield - DFO section is the most heavily patronised. When introduced, route 500X was almost exclusively operated by artics. This has been diluted over time. Region 7 artics turn up in funny places, like the 549 through North Ro...

Re: Timetable Changes 2024,
Not seeing too many surprises here. 294 was always going to go and many 288 trips already terminate at Macquarie Uni. 115 has long been relegated as the poor cousin of the 120 and already terminates at North Sydney in the evening. 252 and 261 don't need to run to the city with the Metro now running...

Re: Western Sydney Airport (WSA) Rapid Bus Routes - Campbelltown, Liverpool and Penrith
All we can hope is that the SWRL is ever extended to the WSA ASAP. At least the T2 Leppington line gets a nice 15 min frequency all day (as a minimum).

Re: Timetable Changes 2024,
No, it just means that the timetable in term 2 is the same timetable as in term 1 - nothing has changed, and the temporary service reductions during school term are continuing. This all started from someone comparing school holidays timetables against term 2, without being able to reference term 1 ...

Re: Timetable Changes 2024,
Wow - that's exceeding the service that the 400 was providing just before its breakup into 400/420! (Back then it was 7/8 min service even during the peaks?) Wasn’t the 400 split because the STA was making it a duel region route depot wise that was interchangeable between Waverley and Kingsgrove No...

Re: Timetable Changes 2024,
Hopefully the "extensions" to the 394x would include stops at UNSW to help relieve overcrowding on the 396 services? If so, it'll be the 895 reincarnated.... not even light rail could help save the patronage explosion that UNSW generates 😂 Nevertheless, it'd be a far better use of resourc...

Re: Timetable Changes 2024
Possibly, but would not make any sense having U-Go operate a route that is wholly outside of its operating area. Unless routes 920 and 960 are reunited, can't see any benefit. I am quietly hoping that will be when M90/M91 are renumbered back into the usual range of route numbers, instead of being t...

Re: Sydney Metro - Tallawong to Bankstown
Hopefully not the ones that carry standing loads like the 610X, much of which they pick up (inbound) well south of Castle Hill. Presumably these are justified because their catchment is through corridors not covered by the metro. You wouldn't catch it from Castle Hill to the city because it's quick...

Re: Sydney Metro - Tallawong to Bankstown
Amid all of the discussions about metro extension to Bankstown, what seems to be far less discussed are the bus changes associated with metro extending into the City. One of such that comes to mind: will routes like 288 be curtailed and more local route options provided to connect to former ECRL sta...
