Re: Parramatta light rail

COVID well and truly, made a huge dent in the finances.

Having said that, "B-line style double deckers" were also promised for a Parramatta Road B-line from Homebush to the City. That's still yet to materialise - though the advent of 461X and increases in frequency, is a step closer.

Re: 25/10/2020 Bus service changes - Inner West

This weekend some Scania buses at Kingsgrove are moving to Leichhardt which will be very squashy unless some buses at Leichhardt are moved elsewhere. As M10 cease to exist, the artics at L can move to K until route 100 is launched and transfer over to STA Region 8? Most of the M10's service frequen...

Re: NSW Railway Observations 2020

Each Weekend, commencing Sunday October 25, 1 x 8B set, working T2 and T8 services, will be replaced by 1 x 8T set. This is to enable Illawarra Line Crews, not qualified to operate Waratah A & B set-types, to work Sector 2 at Weekends. This also gives a further opportunity for maintenance of the Wa...

Re: 25/10/2020 Bus service changes - Inner West

Their gripe is obviously no direct bus from Concord to Gipps St. They don't care about the 461X - it goes into neighbouring Burwood Council which isn't their patch. All a bit territorial. In all honesty I think the routes that have been changed are all due to Opal travel patterns. Whilst the governm...

They lost me at this point: "I remind the cmmunity that earlier this year we stood with our community and Member for Drummoyne John Sidoti to reject changes to ferry services that would have severed the direct link to the City for our residents." Apparently Barangaroo isn't part of the City? Well, ...

Re: December Bus Changes - Northern Beaches and Lower North Shore

I'm surprised that the 246 hasn't been amalgamated with Route 100. Essentially 246 is just a peak hour short working of the 100 at both ends, Wynyard to Spit Jn. Sent from my CPH2025 using Tapatalk you forgot that 246s operate during weekends too Almost non existent, and the single trip on Saturday...

Possibly, with its northern leg being taken over by a new Region 7 route operated by M or Y.

^ The 343 may return to its former guise of Kingsford to City, possibly terminating in Gresham St or possibly return to operating to Millers Point terminus. The Northern leg between Wynyard and Chatswood cannot return to being route 273 as this number was allocated to Forest Coachlines in 2016, rou...

Who knows. If these three regions are franchised out to the right operators, we may get some routes joined up again down the track.

Re: STA Observations 2020

with the disappearance of route 257, will M depot pick up some 144s and 160x? Particularly as they are likely to lose 200, 343 and 340 to the East as there is now extra capacity there owing to the light rail. I suspect 343 and 340 will also have to be untangled before Regions 7 and 9 are franchised...

Oops. Looks like a few of these TTs will need amendment.
  • Route 450 TT for 12/10 - 24/10 shows weekday daytime services boosted to 15 min, when in fact it only commences from 25/10.
  • Route 461X TT shows "Night time service"

With the rubbish traffic that there is at Park St, not a bad choice. Cross city services work based on the assumption traffic times are reliable.

Nothing stopping the route number from being changed. The initial batch of Northern Beaches "changes" was simply to renumber the routes, with no changes to timetable whatsoever.

Those additional 525/526 weekend services plying between DFO/Olympic Park Station and Strathfield are still there. Takes the frequency to around one bus every 6 min on average (10 services/hr) between DFO and Strathfield Station!

Having said that, still no official change to the timetable.

The people who complained about the Forest depot are probably also the ones who oppose a train line to the Northern Beaches. Most of the X and N routes are variations of a "master" route. The 400 and 420 are hybrids in that they are not L or X versions of another route. They stop at all the designated stops for those routes but skip other stops allocated only to other routes. But with the master routes no longer applicab...
