Interestingly the set numbers are available too. Anytrip will show you which LRVs make up the set.

Re: NSW Electric Bus Plan

A render I've seen elsewhere shows that the new version of the ZDi has a high floor in the rear half of the bus (the prototypes have a flat floor). They're like the slow kid at school, they never seem to get it. The render in the article linked shows a high floor behind the centre doors too - look ...

They are? So now when somebody next manages to trip a fire alarm all the lines can go down for half the day whilst operations mosey along to the underground bunker in Moore Park and stand it up?

Re: STA Observations 2021

Definitely weird. Three services a day. Presumably from the "route service" stand seeing as the "Central express" stand is deleted. That said, it has a unique stop ID: https://transportnsw.info/trip#/departures?depart=10112048&type=platform&accessible=false&dateTime=202101271645&arrive=10101100 If t...

Re: Error message.

It looks like the Youtube tag was just added as a custom BB code setting. That still embeds the Youtube video using Flash, which is dead. It's probably better to remove this setting and install the MediaEmbed plugin - https://www.phpbb.com/customise/db/exte ... ediaembed/

Re: Opal Discussion and Observations

Yes contact tracers can access Opal data but it only helps for those using registered Opal cards. There are lots of unregistered cards out there. If you possess the card, you could just tell the contact tracing team the number of the card and then it can be searched. Even more big brother: if you c...

They certainly do seem to pull them apart from time-to-time.

Using coupled sets is probably also easier from a maintenance point of view - the largest vehicle you need to accommodate for any maintenance purpose is 35m.

Re: CBD & South East Light Rail

Maybe back on something approaching the topic: the tram crossing of Alison Rd at Darley Rd Randwick is now finely honed and gives the tram a green signal for exactly the right amount of time (the lights go amber as the tram clears the crossing). This is the only intersection on the whole damn line t...

610e finishes at the end of the school year, yes.

But this all means L2 and L3 have very much reduced ability to take over route services

When your system has been operating for six months but the overhead wiring is eating pantographs for breakfast (Anzac Pde nr Alison Rd) then I guess you do need to spend all day working our why and not actually fixing the problem and getting the line back in service. https://i.imgur.com/Jzbf4uB.png...

Re: CBD & South East Light Rail

Sinking already? I think so. There is a "hole" on the inbound side opposite Ascot St, starting to appear again. The only section of road which was excavated, new road base compacted and new road constructed was the eastern half of the Todman Ave intersection, so while the utility renewal hopefully ...

Why would you put the depot waaay up at Dangar St? It's hundreds of metres from anything and now a wholly residential area.

I saw an image of D4 at central on Facebook either in the SETS group or the NIF appreciation group, so something tells me 10 more cars have arrived if D104 came with them, (All i know is that there are least 4 new cars) D4 was hanging around Central in the afternoon on Friday. https://i.imgur.com/f...

So to where do Clovelly Rd services, or North Randwick services, or Anzac Pde infill services feed? There's no bus-tram interchange facilities outside the termini (and, less smoothly, UNSW Anzac Pde and Kensington Todman Ave)

And it will make the express buses faster when I take them, by getting rid of the all-stops buses along Moore Park Bwy. Re: STA Observations 2020

I'm sorry, but where are you pulling that 35 min figure from? It's 20-25 mins at most from Bondi Beach to BJI. I did the North Bondi-Bondi Junction-city commute for years on the 389. c.2010 I could generally rely on, if I got an X89 by 7:57 of making the 8:28 train. At Seven Ways maybe as late at 8...
